The Goddess Room

'' As Above, so below; As within, so without.''

This statement means we as witches acknowledge that what is outside of ourselves is the manifestation of what is inside, and what is inside is a result of the outside.  In a sense that means that if the archetypes we see as deity live within us they must live outside as well, We are all part of the universe and if we say the Gods are fiction, we are basically saying we are fiction as well. The thought of the female deity is this, that all Goddesses are one Goddess, and we do not hold one Goddess over the other.

In witchcraft we believe in the power of three. The most significant of this power is the Aspects of the Triple Goddess. The triple aspects of the Goddess can usually be identified by their descriptions. Traditionally the three colors are white, red, and black. The concept of the Goddess is; the Goddess is always there, she may change her aspect but otherwise is ever-present. The most visual symbol of this concept is the Moon and its three phases of Waxing, Full, and Waning.  All Goddesses are one Goddess but she shows herself in three main Aspects_
The Maiden, The Mother, and The Crone.

In the Alexandrian tradition we honor all three aspects. Janet and Stewart Farrar wrote a beautiful Triple Goddess Ritual, my coven uses.

The attributes of each aspect is listed her for easy reference.

Celebrating an Aspects of the Goddess
( A Simple Ritual )

Place three taper candles in white, red, and black on your altar place the color that corresponds with the phase of the moon and aspect of the Goddess in front and place the other two slightly behind it. Cast your circle and meditate on the aspect of the goddess you wish to celebrate. When you are ready light the front candle:

" ( Aspect ) of the ( phase ) moon I celebrate and honor you this night. For behold you are the bringer of ( life cycle ) you fulfill the gift of ( gift ) Let me remember this face O' Goddess "

Light the other two candles:

"I honor and acknowledge you ( aspect ) and ( aspect ) the other two faces of the Gracious Goddess, who are ever present yet, unseen"

Step back and kneel or sit and meditate on the each aspect, when ready  stand and say:

"Behold the three formed Goddess, she who is three, Maiden, Mother, and Crone: yet, ever One, Without Birth there would be no life, Without life there would be no Death and without Death there would no rest or rebirth, She who is in all women, and they in her. with every breath let me hold these three in my heart,"
