Welcome to the United Federation of Planets. I hope these pages will help those who find them to better understand the Federation. Understanding is the first step to peace.
The United Federation of Planets (UFP) was formed over 200 years ago in 2161. Its goal was for all beings throughout the galaxy to coexist peacefully. A constitution was framed to govern the the Federation for the mutual benefit and protection of its citizens. It was modeled after several great documents of the past, including the Statutes of Alpha III, the Constitution of the United States of America, and the Fundamental Declarations of the Martian Colonies.
The preamble to the Articles of Federation of the UFP sets forth our aims and ideals. A sketchy history describes significant events leading up to the UFP along with highpoints of the Enterprises.
