The Facts |
| . . . are not always pretty, or what we would have them be. Reality, however (and unfortunately, logic) dictate that there be only one truth, however murky or unapproachable it may seem. It is often hidden behind lies, deception, misunderstood facts, space-time, and our very own wishes for "our" reality. |
| I have been fascinated since the age of eight with the story of the "sons of God and the daughters of Men". Why? I have no idea, except perhaps the mingling of the Spiritual and the Physical has, and always will, interest me. Again, why at such a young age, I have no idea, except perhaps, fortune since I don't believe in luck. |
| So, ultimately, what I have here is the truth as I see it. It does not make it fact in the physical world, or the universe of our reality, but not being palatable does not make it less real either. However you may feel about the story of the Watchers, the Nephilim and the "daughters of men", I believe it to be a historical fact that can be readily defended, using ancient texts, the Holy Bible, the ancient Hebrew texts, the Apocrypha, Psuedepigraha, and the Dead Sea Scrolls, et. al. |

Why? |
| Not for titillation, or any anti-Christian, anti-God stance. Quite the opposite. I have nothing but respect, admiration, love and fear of God. The depth of my feelings for HIM go beyond any words that I could possibly pen or utter. However, I do feel that ALL of creation was give "free will" for a reason. And that reason was to clean "house", and to do it PERFECTLY. How could God do it any other way? I also feel that God had yet "another" motive in his plans, but that's another story, and I won't go into it here. Suffice it to say, HE does have his reasons and who am I to disagree with God? |
| Satan played a very close game with God, and was smart enough not to question Gods Might, but instead questioned His right to rule, i.e., that HE knows best for all creatures. Knowing that if God crushed the new-born rebellion, the QUESTION that Satan posed would never be answered, and that would leave the universe wondering FOREVER, "what if?" |
| So, while I'm definitely not a member of the Religious Right (see Oxymoron in your dictionary), I do most definitely believe in God, call him El, Yahweh or Jehovah. The original Hebrew Texts has the name of God listed as YHVH or JHVH, literally 4,000 or more times (Yahweh and Jehovah seem to be the most correct, since the Ancient Hebrew lacked written vowels) and the King James maybe 5 times. I grew up thinking his name was LORD. How can anyone have a personal relationship with someone when they don't even know their name? And, while I don't use it often when speaking to Him, its nice to be sure I know WHO I'm talking to. When dealing with Spiritual Creatures, this is of the utmost importance! |
| So, (finally!) I am curious about the Watchers and their crimes, because they were Perfect, the same as Adam (actually, better, since Angels are "made a little above Man"). And yet they Fell, on more than one occasion. Why? The same question we ask of Adam and Eve. We're they tricked and misled by Satan, who is closely associated today with Azazel? Did they do it for the sex? Was carnal pleasure a trap for creatures who were Spirits? For the sensory input of an actual "physical" reality? Or, perhaps all of the above and more that I can't actually even comprehend? Whatever the reason, they ended up damaging the Earth, the Animal Kingdom and Mankind almost to the point of annihilation. |
