The History of Gilber
Gilber was created out of sheer boredom.  Marching season had just ended, so the band students were given the day off in class.  After sitting around and generally doing nothing, Jenny began rummaging through Mashonna's stuff.  Jenny found some paper hole reenforcers.  She put them on her fingertips, turned around and said, "Hi Mashonna!  I'm Gilber, Satan's Turd!"
Yes, Gilber started out as Satan's Turd.  Within a week, however, Jenny and Mashonna changed his name to Gilber, The Spirit of Music.  Soon after, Mashonna decided to put Gilber on paper.  Originally, his eyes were seperated, put that design proved to be too hard to duplicate.  Mashonna, with Jenny's approval, changed Gilber's appearance to its present form.  With his name change and new easy-to-draw appearance Gilber became popular with the rest of the band.  The next marching season, Fall 1995, he was unofficially adopted as the band mascot.
That fall it was decided that Gilber needed a friend, so Gilberette, Junior, and Gilberta were created.  This sparked a string of alternate personalities for Gilber.  Most of these were drawn by Mashonna; however, some were submitted by other really bored people that shared classes with Mashonna.  Some of these people were: Jenny, Steph, Amanda, Kristin, Ty, Heathere, Ms. Gore(Williams), and Wes.  I'm sure there are others that I have forgotten, but you know who you are.
Gilber is the star of one children's book written by Mashonna and  Kristin for a French class.  The title is: The Adventure of Super Gilber and the Evil Harvel Monster.  It will be posted soon.
