Height - 5'5.5" Weight - 135
Body Detail - Medium build, with some muscle tone and an athletic frame. Typical body for a human, no deformities. Face resembles Elisa Maza's, but has a more rounded, younger look to it. Hair is short-cropped and done up in a two-inch widow's peak. When reading, wears horn-rimmed glasses that nearly cover the entire top half of her face. Has a birthmark the shape of a pear on her right ankle.
Sleep Detail - Needs about seven hours of sleep a day, and makes a habit of staying up late to study without distraction. Has pulled a few all-nighters, but doesn't make a habit of it.
Diet - Normal human diet, with the tendecy to shy away from red meat. Has a distinct like for Italian desserts, Teramisu in particular.
Psychological Profile - Beth is a die-hard adventurer with a great curiosity for exploring the unknown, almost to the point of obsession. She is very calm and collected, but when angered, nothing holds her back. Developed a wicked-sounding chuckle in her early teens, a result of getting taunted at school. Can be especially vicious to young men trying to win her affections without attempting to get to know her first. Also wiggles ears when experiencing intense emotion, or when casting a spell. Tends to be quiet until she knows what's going on, then she talks non-stop, especially when she thinks she's right about a point.
Special Abilities - The youngest Maza is currently an Understudy in Modernism, and is working to obtain the title of Modern-Day Mage. She can cast Sonic Wings and Apple-Pear (the food cantrip), and is working on other spells. Is being taught by the half-breed Abram Wintersmith. Although she is taking her progression slowly, Beth is a quick learner and has great potential.
Special Skills - Beth is finishing up her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Flagstaff, majoring in Anthropology. She also has a good number of communication skills, including public speaking. In addition, Beth is a brown belt in Tae
Kwon Do and Judo, two martial arts which she uses to defend herself when hard-pressed. Beth also has knowledge of police melee tactics, and has become quite skilled at disarming people.
Finally, Beth is a good judge of character, and can usually steer clear of potential troublemakers.
Parentage and Historical Legacy - Beth is the youngest sibling of the Maza Family, sister to Elisa and Derek. She was picked on regularly by her older siblings, but always managed to turn it to her advantage some way. She didn't follow the path of Law Enforcement like most of her family, preferring the more adventurous life of an anthropologist. She took a tour of an Israeli kibbutz when she was thirteen and decided then what she wanted to do with her life. She is less than a half-year away from getting her diploma.
Having been in college for the past three and a half years, she missed a lot of what went on in New York, including Derek being turned into a mutate and Elisa getting a non-human boyfriend. She actually worked with Goliath, Angela, her father, and her older sister for a night to help foil one of David Xanatos' plots. Her fascination with gargoyles has been alive ever since, though not nearly as strong as her sister's.
Actually met a gargoyle-human half-breed on the way home to New York City. The hybrid, Abram Wintersmith, returned the kindness by offering to teach her Moderism, the magic of the Modern-Day Mage. Beth accepted the offer and was a quick study. She has since occasionally enjoyed a glide over New York City, thanks to a Sonic Wings spell. The friendship the two share is more like a
professor-student relationship than anything else. Loose and casual, but nothing more. Plans to remain single until she sees a bit of the world.
Current Sketch - Beth Maza will be graduating from the University of Arizona this spring, and has plans to do a little globe-trotting. A trip to England, Israel, or China are definite possibilities. Her studies in Moderism are progressing slowly, but surely, and an adventuring partnership between Abram Wintersmith and her is not entirely out of the question. She is just about to start on the adventures of life, and the sky's the limit as soon as she graduates.
Beth Maza - Human
Hair - Black
Eyes - Dark Brown
Skin Complexion - Dark, Native American/African American tones
Age - 22Beth Maza was originally created by the Walt Disney Company.
However, since the character only had one scene in one episode of Gargoyles, and
a bit part in another, the character was not much developed. We at WD
have taken the concept of Beth and expanded, thanks due to Mae Lee,
who has taken on the persona and influenced the character you see in 'Dreams.
