HUNTED by Natalia

PART 3

[Milwaukee, USA. 1933 ce]

David Crandon walked down the desolate streets of the poverty stricken city. In the past two and a half years he had given up hunting other immortals after seeing this depression, and had returned to the priesthood. He had given up the persona of Reginald Von Leonas in '30 when his old teacher, Eric Traegorn had confronted him. . .

[An Alley, Milwaukee, WI, USA. 1930 ce] Eric Traegorn held a sword to David Crandon's throat.

"Listen, David, I don't f***ing know what happened to you but look around!" yelled Eric, his eyes alive with fire.

"Y. . . y. . . you yourselve said th. . .that being a priest shouldn't stop my taking a head," stammered out David.

"Look at yourself moron, do you look like a priest still? When the hell did you leave the priesthood!" screamed Eric into the sweating David's face.

"When. . When I met Laura," replied a tearful David.

Fire welled up in Traegorn's eyes. In a quiet voice Eric slowly asked,"Was she killed by an immortal?"

David nodded. Eric went ballistic. Taking David by the shirt, Eric threw David against the wall.

"ARE ALL MY STUDENTS FOOLS!" yelled Eric. "I WARNED YOU ALL, DIDN'T I!!"

"Y. . . yes, y. . .you did," whispered David.

"I should take your head for this, but I won't," were Eric's parting words as he let David's body fall to the ground, and walked away.

Father David Crandon slowly walked towards a small church. Maybe someday he'd forgive himself, he knew he would do penance until someone took his head. It was the moment that he stepped into the church that he felt a buzzing at the base of his skull. .

Kneeling at the front of the church, praying, was a woman who apeared to be in her mid-twenties. Her glossy long black hair covered her brown eyes that David knew to well. The woman rose to her feet and looked at him.
