"Remy, are yah all raht Sugah?" She asked quietly as she studied him.
"All raht! All Raht!! I couldn't be better!!" He sprung from the the bed, landing foot first in front of where she sat. "HOT DAMN!!" He screamed as he grabbed her around the waist, pulling her off the bed into his arms. He held on tight as he spun her around with glee. Finally he let her feet touch the floor, but kept his hold on her tight. "Oh Chere! Ya have made Gambit de happiest man on earth." The last came out in a whisper as he let his lips drop down to hers.
Rogue closed her eyes. Thank yah lord ... he's happy. She tilted her head back then opened her mouth to receive him.
Gambit hugged her tight before he let her go. "Oh, I'm sorry." He stepped back a little from her. "Did I hurt'cha? Did I squeeze de baby too tight?"
Rogue sputtered with laughter. He had such a serious look on his face. "No Remy." She let her gaze drop to her still washboard flat abdomen. She place a possessive hand over it. "We're both fine."
Gambit let his gaze drop down to where her hand now rest. He gently put one of his hands over hers. 'Jis t'ink ... I gon'na be a Poppa, then smiled. "Really Chere? Wha' 'bout yesterday?" He asked quietly.
"Ah'm fine Remy. For someone who has been throwing up and faint'in, Ah feel great raht now." She pulled back to observe him. "Are yah sure yah are fine with this? Yah know we hadn't talked 'bout having kids yet." He frowned down to her. "Well Ah was afraid yah'd hate the idea."
" 'Jis because we not talk 'bout it don' mean I did not wan' any Rogue. We talk ta Cyclops later 'bout allotting us ground for a house. Wha' size ya wan'? One, two, t'ree story, wha'ev'ah yah wan', Gambit will have it built."
Rogue smiled, "Wait, wait, wait Sugah! Yah rushing things a bit. We don't know how far long Ah am and with us both being Mutants, chances are that this ain't gonna be the average child."
"Of course it will! Dis be de most perfect, beautiful, wonderful and spoilt child in de whole world!" He exclaimed.
"Ah shore hope yah raht Remy." She lowered her head. "Ah'm afraid."
He gently put the palm of his hand against the side of her face, "Wha' are ya afraid of Rogue? Talk ta me Chere."
Rogue's vision grew cloudy with tears, "Ah'm afraid that mah powers could hurt the child." She looked up into his searching eyes. "That would kill me is something was wrong with it or happened tah it because of me." Tears began to rolled down her face. "Ah ..." She sniffed. "... Ah would not be able ... tah live with ... mah self Remy. Ah 'jis ... wouldn't."
Man! She's scar'in even me. I had not t'ought 'bout dat. It can' be good for her ta be upset. I try ta distract her. Gambit used one of his fingers to wipe the tears from her face. "Chere, ya invent'in problems. New mamas are suppose ta be happy, not sad." He kissed her on her fore head. Slowly he let his fore head rest on the top of her crown. "Tell ya wha'? We go see Henry. He tell us wha' ta expect. Until den, I don' wan' ta hear anot'er negative word out of ya mouth. Ya hear?"
"But ..."
"Not anot'er one." He kissed the top of her hair then lean back to see if she was still crying. Good, she's stopped. "Yah t'ink 'bout de pretty lit'le girl ya gon'na give me, Eh?"
"Girl? Who said anything 'bout a girl?" She asked. "Ah want a boy."
"A boy?" He exclaimed. "Why in de world ya wan' a boy?"
"Yah can play with them more and yah can wrestle with them."
"Ya got de point dere, but ya can' dress boys up in pretty dresses with pink bows and pony tails."
"Boy!" She yelled.
"Girl!" He yelled back.
"Boy!!" She screamed.
"Girl!!" He screamed back.
"Bam!" "Bam!" "Bam!!" The sound of Wolverine
beating on the adjacent wall stopped their latest childish argument.
"Shut up in there!!" He yelled to them through the wall. "If
I don't get my full eight hours, I'm cranky all day!!"
Gambit released her to walk over to the wall. He turned to wink at her before he started beating his fist against the same wall Wolverine had just hammered. "Sorry we disturbed ya Logan!!" He yelled back.
Rogue sputtered in laughter. "Yah know one of these days yah gonna push him too far." She laughed.
"Yeah, but not today."
