Leading role : The Doctor and Mach 2 EMH

Synopsis of this episode:
The episode starts when Seven discovers what seemed to be an abandoned information network that links from Voyager's position to deep Alpha Quadrant.  At the other end in the Alpha Quadrant lies the U.S.S. Prometheus, a federation prototype warship designed to help Deep Space missions.  Making sure that she would be heard, Captain Janeway quickly sends out a distress call with her message for help to the Prometheus.  Unfortunately, her message is deteriorated before reaching the destination.  Seeking an alternative, Captain Janeway decides to send a hologram that will not deteriorate after travelling 60,000 light years.  The only fully functional 24th century hologram on Voyager is the Doctor.  Therefore, he gets to go for a little ride.  Unfortunately, the Doctor discovers that the Prometheus is taken over by the Romulans.  Hence, the only way back to Voyager would be to retake the ship.  That would be a challenge, but with the prototype EMH, they can achieve any goals.  By using their only weapons, the anesthetics, the Doctors regained the ship and the Doctor completes his mission by later informing the Federation that U.S.S. Voyager is not destroyed.  Thus, the odyssey continues...

Evaluation:
This is a very good episode with many funny lines.  The Doctors were also great. I also liked the interaction between Seven and B'leanna.  Haha Seven doesn't really know what "rude" means.  She also thinks that it is normal when people cringe in fear upon seeing her because she is a Borg.  The episode had some action also.  I liked the idea of the new Federation technology where the ship separates into three parts and attack in a given pattern.  There has been a rumor before that the Doctor will end up in an alternate universe where the Federation will be the bad guys and the Romulans will be the good.   Well I must apologize for that nonsense.  It was incredible how, without even using a torpedo, the U.S.S. Prometheus can destroy a Romulan Warbird.  But I must say that this episode is mostly hilarious!  The two doctors were scrambling to find the navigation and weapons control.  When they found it, they didn't know how to operate.  The Mach 2 EMH accidentally fired a torpedo on the Federation ship instead of the Romulan warbird.  Good thing that the Doctor accidentally initiated the decoupling sequence for multi-attacking.  Also, Harry was trying to recreate the Doctor in case he never comes back.  Of course, he was cajoled by Tom to do so because he said that he was "a pilot, not a doctor."  However, the attempt failed in a very hilarious way.  The Fake Doctor started reciting the Biology textbook instead of storing it in the hologram.  Hence, he overloads himself.  I truly liked this episode.  This is far better than the last episode.  Wouldn't you agree?

This episode receives:       a 8.5 out of  10.
