...In My Life: Mulder contemplates the women in his life.
Swallowed Screams: How could a mother just stand by and watch her daughter be taken?
So what precisely are these "Archivist's Ramblings"? Well...I'm the archivist, and these are my ramblings...let's see...My name is Summer, I'm 18 (as of December 1997) and I go to a tiny little women's college called Cottey.
I'm actually fairly boring as people go....I started reading FanFiction in January of 1997. I believe that Lydia Bower's "Dance Without Sleeping" was my very first story. Then I discovered the joys of Gossamer.... And this Canadian person called Jackie St. George. I e-mailed Sheryl who was kind enough to send me the titles of all of her St. George stories in order. I saved them all to disk without even reading them first-then promptly got caught up in my insane RL and forgot about them. That is I forgot about them until I was sorting disks one day and came upon one labeled "X-Files FanFiction Disk 3-Jackie St. George". I read all 56 (at the time) in two nights.
I started reading all of Sheryl's other stories, and got hooked. Last December, in an e-mail, she mentioned that she didn't have web access, I wrote her and asked her if she'd like an archive and she said yes, so the result is what you'll see when you hit the "back" button on your browser :o).
So, not that this is the Oscars or anything, but now I have to say thank you to some people. Yeah, yeah, I know. You don't have to read this part if you don't want to, but I only have a few people to thank, honest! First off, there's my mom and dad for getting me a computer and...ok, ok. Seriously, I want to thank Sheryl for writing such fantastic stories and for very patiently putting up with my all my questions, I want to thank Karen, Amy, Katalina and Erin for letting me use their pictures, and last but definitely not least, I want to thank the good Archivist Fairy -- someone who asked not to be named but is the most active lurker in the X-Files FanFic community that I know of. So thank you very much
