It was started in mid June 96, and has had a terrific success. Khor-Ah - 04:04pm Jun 30, 1996 EST \ Those of you entering your races into this universe, do it quietly, make it seem like they have been here all along. A few things to remember: The Groghem Cluster IS a part of the B5 universe, so there is a population of races that does originate from the show, although no one has deemed them worthy of their writing ability. The Groghem Cluster was originaly owned in its entirety, by the Khor-Ah, every race that has settled in the Groghem cluster, with the exception of the Keep, which has been here forever, petitioned for colonial expansion, and was granted space by the Khor-Ah. This has lead to a peaceful expansion for all races, and eliminated many causes for war. The Groghem Cluster, has for the last 6,000 - 7,000 years, been cut off from the rest of the galaxy, due to a massive influx of dark matter. This DM, essentially lots and lots of dust, flows around the cluster fuel to the stellar winds of the clusters stars. It blocks out all light from the galaxy, and due to it's gravitational forces, makes space folding, hyper-space transit, and translight travel through it impossible. It takes five years in normal space to transit the Dark Matter cloud, at .9 of light speed. There is only one Known way through hyperspace into the Groghem Cluster, and it is deep within Kzer-Zah controlled space, and therefore impossible to reach.

Shadow Master - 06:09pm Dec 12, 1996 EST \ Here is what our original game master Khor-Ah posted on how this works. All my additions are marked with [ ]. If anyone is still interested, I'll come up with a brief history of the cluster. Unless you REALLY want to read all 1035+ posts. For those of you who are unfamiliar to this, I'll sort of explain how it's done. Someone creates the beginnings of a story. Everyone has their own character (or in most cases race). After the first part of the story is told, everyone continues to build on it, Via their character. So say I decide to blow up B5, and another character is the bad guy, but know one knows. Everyone would post stories of their own investigation. That’s one way of doing it. Another is to go out and have fun exploring, fighting battles, and so forth. [We have been doing the second kind mostly.] Things like "Khor-Ah shoots Slare, and blows his body apart are not allowed. Charachters are only allowed to write about their own deaths. So I could say "Khor-Ah shoots AT slare" but it would be up to Slare to (being reasonable) say in his next post. "Khor-Ah's lasers beam cut through my armor, but left me unscathed, or Khor-Ah blew my a$$ away." Most of the time however the badguys are simple imaginary, their actions are controlled by one or two people, usually the story's creator, so we can say they die or what not. Just be careful not to destroy someone’s story in a couple days by killing off the main character in one post. [VERY important, we promise not to kill any newbies, so don’t go on countering everything another player says/does.] Since I have had such a positive response to this, I spent about four hours creating an unique way to stay within the B5 Universe, yet avoid theory conflicts with the current show. Time Frame: 5,500 Years since the Last Great War. The shadows, having been sorely defeated have retreated to their places of hiding, waiting to come again. [so there are a few minbari, vorlons, etc floating around, though we tend to ignore them.] The Groghem Cluster is the galactic frontier. A group of Stars numbering in the millions, tightly packed into a small area of space. The cluster was colonized nearly five thousand years ago by various races,[or ones that had run from the Shadows] but has since lost all contact with the galaxy due to a massive field of darkmatter which has shattered hyperspace in The border lands. [Jasoom has a really nice map of the cluster, its old but...] In this region of space, Many races have set up their own micro-empires. Not all the races were known at the time of the war, and some are native to this region of space. Such as the Kohr-Ah. O.K. Post your house Name, It's Political stance. Race, small history and so forth. [Please, if your interested in this, post your race name etc, in this topic until we can get some of order here.]

Slare - 06:23pm Dec 13, 1996 EST \ No need to email necessarily....it was convenient for us when we first started is all. Go ahead and post it...and try to have a basic knowledge of the history of the cluster. It is a bit complex, and maybe brief history is in order. Roughly here is the timeline: 1 million years ago: Khera vs Y'lestja war...both seemingly wiped out, and a neutral party, the Ekin, assumed to be dead too. [Dead Sector originated from this War] Other ancient races leave the cluster...including the PedaDragoon Mother Race, the Sooman Mother race (Akkier Dynasty)...etc... Hundreds of thousands of years ago: First major native race goes stellar. .the Khor. Civil War breaks into Kzer-Zah and the Khor-Ah. Kzer-Zah banished from cluster Tens of thousands of years ago : Accident of some sort (?) forms Dark Matter Wall around Cluster, sealing it off from Galaxy Sometime thereafter The Keep makes itself known...a multi racial organization built on the Ruins of Khera dedicated to Guarding against return of Y'lestjans Closer...other races go stellar. about 2 years aago (?) : -Kzaer-Zah Invade Cluster...multi power alliance defeats them...Khor-Ah apparently destroyed in the process -Keep Civil War Breaks out...Rebel Keepers under Delta Now recognized Keep Government...Slare and the Loyalist Keepers in Exile about 1 year ago: -The Khor-Ah return as the mutated crystalline Rhastah-Khor...Eventually unite with the crystalline remainder of the Kzaer-Zah to form a single race once again -Keeper 13 deposes Keepr Slare as head of the exiled Loyalist Keepers, goes on vendetta to destroy the Race of Delta, head of the rebel Keepers..this race is actually the last hidden clan of the Y'lestjans...Delta was sent by the Y'lestjans to disrupt Keep activities...as the Keep see the Y'lestjans as mortal enemies -Keeper 13 is killed assaulting the Y'lestjan clan's planet...Slare and Delta abandon their former antagonism and rejoin to rebuild the devastated Keep -Gorren execute coup in Zeerich Karr government and easily takes over Keep Homeworld from weakened Keep forces -PendaDragoon Homeworld is destroyed..Luckily the mother race had come back to find her children...a mass exodus by unknown means out of the cluster by the Penda....including Slare (who turns out to be Penda as well...he was never sure) -Slare's mechanical clone is left behind to guard the cluster in slare's absence...but he's a lot meaner than Slare...forms protectorate -Gorren and Rebel Zeerich Karr Defeated by the Rhastah-Khor and the Protectorate and the ZK nder Shadowmaster. Gorren escapes to new Y'lestjan homeworld...Rhastah-Khor home is apparently infected with incurable virus, is put in quarantine...Rhastah Khor withdraw from Cluster Politics -The unmutated Khor-Ah and KzerZah Remnant returns to take over the UN of the cluster , parliament. They are too powerful to beat, but they are held in check by the other races. Now: -Khor assault new UN of cluster, the Living Planet Babylon...it is rendered DEAD by a virus -Keeper 13 is alive...and apparently leading the Khor....he wants the Y'lestjans DEAD for good this time -The Ekin arrive from temporal Rift -Keep and Ylestjans and Protectorate form an Alliance and withdraw from Cluster activities other than harassing the Khor -A new invasion into Sooman by unknown hostiles.
