Lion defeated Crane in the Day of Thunder Tournament.

Both finalists agreed they would not fight to see who would kill Fu Leng, but to fight against the Dark Lord together. They played a game to determine a winner of the Emerald Armor, but both Akodo Toturi and Doji Hoturi killed Fu Leng, as far as the story is concerned, though Hoturi was mortally wounded in the battle. Toturi is the new Emperor.
