Although I take picture requests, I am under no obligation to actually accept them. Certain requests may be turned down at my discretion. Don't let this scare you away, but if I feel that I cannot draw a certain subject, I will be forced to decline the request.
My busy schedule (I'm taking a very heavy courseload) limits the amount of time I can devote to my art. Therefore, I cannot do requests for nothing. Fear not, my price is not great! I will take either picture trades or the chance to read a background/short story involving the character in return. If you are neither a writer nor an artist, Email me and we can work the details out. Note: I am now accepting paid commissions! If you want the original piece, this is the way to go. Email me for pricing information.
I retain copyright of the work, but I will put a notice on any portrait stating that the character is your property. If you wish to display the finished piece upon a website, please Email me to request permission. I like to keep track of where my work goes. I also reserve the right to sell any original, although in the event I do, I will contact you first to offer you the first chance to buy it. I may also choose to make prints of a piece. In the case of a paid commission, no reproductions will be sold; the original piece will be sent to the buyer upon completion.
I can draw almost any creature, if given a detailed enough description. Dragons, gryphons, equines, anthropomorphics, chimerae... However, humans and humanoids are my great weakness, and I would kindly ask that you refrain from requesting them. If you MUST have a portrait of a human... consider yourself warned. It will not look good by anyone's definition of the word, no matter how long I spend on it.
If you have a character you would like me to do a portrait of, Email me the following information.
Character's name
Species (of course)
Detailed description. I want height, weight, coloration, age, any special characteristics. Just "a red dragon" will not do- tell me about how many wing fingers, what the webbing looks like, ear frills, crest, tail, how many digits per claw, talon color, scale shape, eye color- everything! The longer the description is, the more accurate the portrait will be.
Pose. If you have a preferred stance for your character, tell me. Otherwise I will just do a standard side-view or frontal view. Facial expression/personality are also great helps.
Setting. Background is important. If you don't give me a response for this one, I won't draw one. Backgrounds are time-consuming, and I don't want to guess at them.
If you still wish me to draw for you, compose an Email including all of the above and email me here. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
