"So. Would you like to know the good news or the bad news?" Mulder stood in the door way to the office. Scully looked up from her desk, eyeing Mulder suspiciously.
"Am I going to like either choice?" She asked, cocking her head to one side. Knowing Mulder, she could never
predict what the term good news meant to him. It was the same with bad news. Sometimes she would like it, other
times she'd have to be dragged out of her seat.
"Depends."
"OK. I'll start with the good news."
"Scully, Do you remember how you dared me that some day I should bungy jump or sky dive, just anything to get out of work? Well to Co-inside with that other case I was telling you about, I've booked my self into a hotel to take
a deeper investigation into it, so I'll be away for a week. Hope you don't get yourself into too much trouble!" Mulder casually walked into the office, throwing some papers and manila folders onto the desk, which was already cluttered in abundance of these. Scully's jaw dropped, but was closed as fast as it had opened.
"I..uuh, I mean.." Scully paused to recollect herself in astonishment. When was the last time Mulder had taken a
break and crashed into a hotel alone? No wait, when was the last time Mulder had taken a break?
"Mulder, what do you mean you are leaving for a week!?" Scully said dumbfounded. "What are you taking a break
for?" Scully followed Mulder with her eyes, as he continued holding his smug grin, listening to her roll out her
objections.
"We are in the middle of a case here, and I wasn't that serious, and you are going on a trek expedition to find
yourself on a bungy jump, whilst investigating another case. You are going to take a break, and we are taking a
plunge together. No! What am I saying? You are taking a break, and I am staying here with the case, I am going to
be stuck here…"
"Scully, please feel free to come to the point." Mulder sighed in resignation.
"Huh?" Scully stopped mid-sentence.
"The point being…" Mulder gestured.
"My point? Oh, My point. No, this is your point." Scully frowned. "Are you telling me, you are going to investigate
another case,.." She paused before smiling a slyly to herself. '…alone?" What could Mulder possibly do by
himself, lulling around a hotel, sky diving or bungy jumping? Let alone if it was a huge hotel? Scully's smile grew
as she began imaging all the possibilities.
"What's so funny?" Mulder questioned.
"Oh nothing. OK, well I uh hope you enjoy yourself." Scully turned around to continue filling out the Medical reports
to be sent to Quantico in order to perform an Autopsy that Mulder had requested.
"Would you liked to know why I am going?" Mulder hinted.
"Hmm, No, not really. Personally Mulder, what you do in your spare time is your business." Scully turned around to
face him, handing him over the papers. "I've heard enough rumors to know what you think about." Scully teased.
"Oh absolutely Scully. How could I possibly think about anything else when you are around?" Mulder shot back
smiling innocently. Scully passed him a dirty look.
"You have a dirty mind and a wild imagination." She smirked.
"Oh you have no idea." Mulder's innocent look changed to a devilish grin.
"Hmmm, I bet. Try me." Scully challenged him.
"Scully, when was the last time you did something even vaguely.." he paused to emphasis the point. "..Out There? I
don't even think I've even see you try."
"That's funny Mulder, but you have no idea what I do in *my* personal time, and I don't think you'll want to hear me
out if you knew what I could get up to."
Mulder slumped down into his chair, leaning back, eager to hear Scully, and yet at the same time hardly believing
her for one second. "I don't believe you, besides, I already do know what you do in your spare time."
"Oh, and what is that?" Scully asked.
"I bet that you probably slouch around all day picking from a Nutella jar whilst reviewing some Medical reports.
Trying to prove your.." Mulder raised his hands to indicate speech marks. ".. Theories."
"Bite me." Raising her eyebrows in disbelief at Mulder, she swiveled around in her chair, with her back facing
him.
"Sure fine, whatever." Then he paused. " But with all the evidence at hand…" Mulder spoke slowly, trying to catch
her attention. Scully returned to face Mulder, hearing him out.
"Evidence? Hmmm, show me."
"OK, well firstly, take a look at your posture. You're slouching." Scully examined herself before sitting up straight,
trying not to be obvious.
"I'm listening." She said.
"Your shoes are parked at the door, an obvious sign that you weren't planning on going any where." Mulder
indicated towards the door way, where Scully's shoes were neatly placed.
"What's wrong with that? And Mulder, 'feel free to,… come to the point.'" She said, impersonating him. "There is a
dark finger print smear on the back of this Case report. Skinner wouldn't approve." Mulder flipped the page over
so she could see it, happily scorning her untidiness.
"I was changing the tire on my bike and I forgot to fully clean my hands." She shrugged.
"Scully, do you own a bike?" Mulder looked suspiciously at her.
"I might. But can I point out two things?" She said, trying to change the topic. "Firstly, this is a ridiculous
conversation, and secondly, excluding the first thing I said, have you any solid proof? Say maybe,.. a jar of
Nutella?"
"Well, I was working on it. But uhh,.." Mulder looked around the room unconvincingly.
"Yes?" Scully said standing up from her desk, heading towards the door.
"Well…" He said with a tone of defeat. Scully let out a small laugh, keeping it to herself as she went over to the
door to retrieve her shows. As she was picking them up, she didn't here Mulder pulling an object out from under
his desk, as he quietly crept up behind her.
"But I did find… this." He said as he was unscrewing a lid belonging to a jar. Scully whirled around in surprise, as
she hadn't heard Mulder coming towards her.
"Are you missing this?" He asked, holding the Nutella jar in front of him with the lid off.
"Mulder, what are you doing with that? Mulder! Don't come any closer! Mulder!" Scully dashed behind him as he
began after her, taunting her with the Nutella. One wrong move and she would be smeared.
"Mulder! Don't!" She begged, behind his desk, ready to move at any moment.
"Where's your spirit of excitement Scully? Always thought you wanted me to do wild things. Nothing wrong with out
putting chocolate on ya!" Mulder said laughing.
"Muulldeeerrrr!!!" Scully said giggling as she ran into a corner. "Oh crap." She turned around, as Mulder was
advancing towards her, waving his chocolate covered fingers. Scully wasn't really prepared to get dirty, not with
chocolate! And the day had only begun. There was no way she could possibly spend the rest of the day, the way
Mulder had planned her to look. She could see there was no way stopping him now.
"Two can play that game Mulder!" Scully said, taking Mulder by surprise, as she locked her hands onto him,
silently groaning to herself as the chocolate spread oozed onto her hands. Until she found a safe way out of this,
there was no way she was going to let go of his hand. Mulder yelped in surprise, as she squeezed his hand,
effectively knocking the jar from his hand.
"Oh well, lucky for you, that the chocolate stays in the jar, otherwise I'm sure *you* would find it hard explaining that
to Skinner!" Scully smirked.
"Oh your cute Scully. Very cute." Mulder replied sarcastically. "Tell me, do you really think that I would given in that
easily?" Then he grinned. He pushed her backwards, enough to loosen his hands from her grip, so he could pull
away. To save herself from falling, she grabbed out for him with her dirty hands, with a purpose intention, holding
onto his waist. She let go and dashed for the jar on the floor.
"Stay where you are!" She said, grinning from ear to ear. "You were right Mulder, now that I have the jar, this is
kinda fun!"
"Watch where you put that stuff!" Mulder cried.
"Oh I'm scared Mulder. Now how do you feel?" She asked, walking closer to him.
"Well I always knew you had it in you!" He said before reaching out smearing his hands all over her face. Scully
cried out, before grabbing him by the scruff off his neck, lathering her hands in chocolate before running it through
his hair.
"Oh you'll pay for that!" Mulder laughed, before dashing behind her.
"I don't think you should be a beauty Therapist Mulder. You are horrible at trying to apply facials!" Scully said
before chasing after him again. Just as Scully had grabbed him from behind, there was a knock upon the door.
"Oh Shit!" Mulder whispered.
"Skinner!" Scully hissed.
Mulder grabbed Scully by the wrist, before dragging her into the store cupboard.
"Don't drop that bottle whatever you do!" He spoke quietly.
Just as Mulder had shoved Scully into the confined space with him, closing the door as quietly as he could
manage, the door to the office opened.
"Mulder…" Scully began softly, before Mulder quickly cupped his hand over her mouth, holding her very still. Both
of them had forgotten that Skinner was going to drop by, to pick up the Medical Files that Scully had recently finished
on a case which was way over due the submission date.
They both froze, listening to the footsteps echo through the office, as Skinner circled around Mulder's desk, browsing
for what he needed. After for what seemed like hours, he finally left, and both Mulder and Scully let out a sigh of
relief.
"That was close." Scully said.
"Too close." Mulder commented.
"I never realized that this cupboard could fit two people. It looked smaller from the outside."
"Oh, I knew." Mulder smiled to himself, jokingly, knowing that Scully could hear his smile through his voice.
Replying to that, she gently elbowed him.
"OK, now open the door before I get worse." Scully indicated towards the small rays of light which were peaking
through the gaps under the door. Mulder reached for the handle, jiggling it slightly.
"Uh Scully?" He said hesitantly.
"Mulder?" She groaned.
"You are not going to like this…"
The end.
