Fehnlyne's Gallery O' Plenty
On these pages, you'll be able to see all the artwork I've been doing lately...I've never considered myself a good artist -- haven't taken an art class since the 9th grade -- but I do think that I'm refining my style and getting better all the time. Take a look at what I've got here, and see if you agree or not. Most of these are pictures of the character I play on my mud, Fall of Cernunnos. She's a K'daai Nhy'm (roughly translated to a fire faerie/sprite type of creature) and rather full of herself. She tends to pose for me a lot in my imagination. On the FoC pages, you can see some more (better!) artwork of her, by my dear Ilchiru. Please note that all these pictures are copyrighted by me, Fehnlyne, and if you steal them, I'll hunt you down until your dying breath. ;) Let me know what you think of them!

This is my first picture of Fehnlyne...first to get completed, anyway. I'm pretty proud of it, although Ilchiru had to help me quite a bit -- I was still having major problems with proportions and hands. I think it turned out quite nicely, considering. Her top wasn't originally going to be fishnet, btw -- just happened when I was inking the picture and went way out on a line. Decided to make it funky looking. Oh, and for the purists out there, this picture is based on a Marc Silvestri More Than Mortal cover. The green sword is Nhy'mite. Dig it!

This next one is something I did on a whim one night at about 2 AM when I couldn't sleep. I've always liked the picture it's based on (from Joseph Michael Linsner's 1999 Dawn calendar) but hated the outfit in the original. Decided to gear her up a bit, and give her something definately in the JML tradition -- sexy, but she still looks like she chould kick your ass. I'm especially proud of her hair and boots in this one. She looks _almost_ innocent. ;)

This is another JML pic, probably one of the best known I've decided to take it upon myself to draw -- the cover to Crypt of Dawn #1. I was drawing another picture, and that cover just peeked out at me and grabbed my attention all of a sudden. It was just so perfect, with the skull at the bottom of the picture. Hand placement was my real problem on this one, once again...Ilchiru came through for me though, thank God. ;) Don't let the look on her face fool you -- her fingers are just twitching with a ready spell. ;)

This is one of my favorites, hands down. I wanted to do this picture so badly, and when I was almost done sketching it the first time, I noticed that I had made the body waaaaayyy too long. So I ended up scrapping it for about a day, and came back only to draw it MUCH better. It's based on promo pictures for JML's Return of the Goddess, with her outfit more in the vein of the "Aurora Verde" picture, found in Another Card Set and Gary Numan's album. My favorite parts are the cross-hatching on her chest and the sword. Big and bad, and love that skull!

This is generally considered my best picture of Fehnlyne, and I tend to agree. These's just something...sultry about it. This one is based on a Jim Lee{! my god!) picture in one of the WildStorm Swimsuit issues. I can emulate Jim Lee pretty well...started drawing his X-Men characters when I started college. Rogue this is not. ;)

This isn't exactly something I drew, but it's Fehnlyne! ;) It's me, irl, with my dear sweet husband, fondly known as Ilchiru on the mud. This is as close as you're going to see the two characters together...the mud versions hate each other. ;)

This, strangely enough, is not Fehnlyne. It's a Virago character, one of the Omen classes (basically mages, if you want to get picky). She's a wild woman, kind of like the old Celtic women who used to tattoo themselves and go into battle. We've upped the ante a bit -- these ladies tattoo themselves and enchant the tattoos...can make them pretty dangerous. So why does she need the sword? Umm...it was in the promo picture of Elektra that I took it from? I'd credit the artist, but I have no idea who it is...

This last one isn't a mud character, and I've hardly changed it from the original. *gasp* I'm not sure exactly what the name of the character is, since I'm not a regular reader of Drew Hayes' Poison Elves, but I love the picture. It's from the 1999 Sirius Gallery, and I got rid of the sword she had slung across her back. I'd colour it, but I'm a bit too scared...there's too much detail. ;)

This is a picture of a character I used to play on Beyond the Veil of Shadows (Vivat Grendel!)...now she's an imortant Fehncrys NPC on FoC. In case you can't tell (I hope you can!) she's an Alianotre (werewolf) who's been cast out of society -- hence the tattoo over her eye. She now runs with the all female Shenzi, and she's a badass. Don't mind the shadowy tail on the right, that was a booboo, the result of me penciling WAY too hard. =P

This is a Shiion, an elf-y type of creature, featured on FoC. This one in particular is a Fehncrythaoi, a type of Shiion closely tied to nature, and specifically, the Fehncrys shapechangers. The picture I used for a base is from Dreams of Dawn 1/2, a spooky little picture by Dark One. Watch those claws.
