Contained herein is a collection of Poems composed by me after July 2000. I won't post any of my older stuff... mainly because it's an era I don't particularly want to revisit. I hope you like.

MEMORY LANE

Memory land is a warm seductress
it lures you in with candy coated dreams
So you take a stroll
Look that’s where I kept my comics
Look that’s where she kissed me
Look that’s where I graduated
Look that’s where she ripped my fucking heart out
That’s where I lost my self…

And that is where I stood
whilst watching my life slowly smolder

The city planner who designed this dark stretch of road
MUST have been a woman
Cause everything is perfect on the surface
(a product of feminine design)
just above the scars and abrasions of a hard lived life.

This cold highway of terror should come with an instruction booklet
-Bring a gun to shoot your demons
-Bring a republican, because there’s no one better at the art of revisionist history
-Remember to let everything you see
slip into hazy smoke-hewn pseudo-memory
so that you’re sort of forget… but not really
And always remember to come back
soon and often

Do or die
A concept without meaning
until…
Flames
crackling, caking, charring, ripping
Burning a hole through your very life.
Proving to you once and for all
that you are not.

Not super
Not god-like
Merely mortal
Forever and eternally
a meat puppet.
a fucking mouth breather
It’s ok though,
you get used to it.

Who was she?
That smiling cherub I once knew
Was she you or some creature of the stars?
Did she vanish into thin air?
No.
She couldn’t have.
I still see her in the twilight.
I still hear her lilting verse.
She must’ve been you
or rather, you must’ve been her…
Once.
Perhaps long ago.
Where did she get off to?
Those of her ilk are sorely needed
in this time of upheaval
Lackluster beginnings and dilapidated dreams
but no ethereal “her”
No hope. No light. Just solitary solace.
I know she lives still
You just have to let her out to play
Smile for me – Just a grin is all I ask
Laugh for me – At least a giggle
Look for her please.
Not for me (even though I love her)
Not for the world (even though it needs her)
But for you.
Find that brilliant dancing girl
before you’re left with vague memories, wondering constantly
Who was she?

Beauty. Pain.
You. Me.
Beauty you?
Pain me?
Painful scars
because of you?
Or because of me?
More likely me.
You, beautiful you.
Ever me?
No NO!

Painful me, pitiful me, painful pitiful fucked up me.

Because of you.

Come here
See me
laugh at me
I’m funny
Talk to me
I listen
Flirt with me
I’m good
Kiss me
I’m really good.
Take me in your arms
I’m very very good
I rock
I’m the best there is at what I do
Smoke with me
our brand’s the same
NO! Don’t walk out!! Just please oh pretty please

Come here

The mirror cracked
I looked in
it broke
The mirror cracked
because of all I’ve done
The blood
The pain
All of it creaking
Screaming my name
The mirror cracked
as I looked in
as I saw my face.
Problem was
it wasn’t me…

Angel’s Song

Temptation
Plagued by darkness
Atoning always
sins of a life not mine
Forever struggling
suppressing desire
living in shadows
Everything I am
Everything I’ve done
Has led me here
So many people to save.
So many hopeless to help
I’m game.

Goodnight
Goodnight, dear heart, goodnight.
Sleep you well, and dream of pretty things.
Dream
Dream lovely, dream sweetly
Dream knowing I rest at your side.
Dream knowing I love no other.
I love you – smile!
I love you – dance!
I love you – kiss!
I love you – sleep!
Dream away this cold maw
look to better worlds
But know I love you with my very breath.
All these thing I dream to say but

all I do:

Goodnight.
Goodnight, dear heart goodnight.
