"Nature didn't make that thing, Mulder. We did....."

All Hail the King Of The Sewers!! *lol*

The Flukeman, also known as "FLUKIE" to his fans, first blessed TV sets, idiot boxes, etc. around the world in the episode "THE HOST". The X-Files make-up crew have done a bloody good job with creating this *gruesome-looking* character =)

Special effects artist, BILL TEREZAKIS, did the main production designs for the creature, fans have dubbed as "FLUKIE". He envisioned it with three-fingered hands, flipper feet and rippling folds of flesh covering the entire body.

Flukeman was probably the freakiest creature to emerge from Tony Lindala's (X-files makeup man) basement workshop.

The make-up crew made a cast of actor Darin Morgan's body, which was then sculpted into a mold to create the rubber suit. His head and feet were cast separately in fubber-like alginate.

Flukeman's fictional origins are based on the real-life nuclear reactor accident at CHERNOBYL, which makes for scary "WHAT IF?" questions.

THE SUIT WAS NOT, HOWEVER, CONSTRUCTED WITH COMFORT IN MIND.....Here's what Darin Morgan said about the suit in an interview from The X Files Magazine...

"There might have been those who had nightmares looking at it, but it was much worse looking OUT of it. And once it got wet, it was enourmously heavy. You couldn't breathe. It was like sensory deprivation, 15 hours a day."

Mulder: "Three species disappear every day. Who knows how many new ones are being created?"

Mulder: "It's kind of hard to make an appointment when you're up to your ass in raw sewage."

Mulder: "This isn't where you tell me some terrible story about sushi, is it?"

Scully: "Not unless you'd like to hear what you can catch from a nice rare steak."

Scully: "...it's not a creature that goes around attacking people." Mulder: "Well, that's good. I'd hate to have to tell Skinner that his suspect is a giant, blood-sucking worm."

Scully: "Is this seat taken?" Mulder: "No, but I should warn you, I'm experiencing violent impulses."

Scully: "Well, I'm armed, so I'll take my chances."

Mulder: "You know sometimes it just gets hard to smile when they ask you to bend down and grab your ankles, you know?"

X: "You have a friend at the FBI" Mulder: "Lovely."

Scully: "Is this seat taken?" Mulder: "No, but I should warn you, I may reek a bit of the sewer."
