Though I don't hold it against him, some minor and major changes need to be made to the rules and mecha of the role-playing game by Kevin Simbieda.
Modifications to Rules:
- Both Alphas and Betas have lasers built into the nosecone area. They do 4D6 MD and have a range of 4000 ft. Lasers are shown in the cartoon and mentioned in the books.
- All damage done by Invid mecha is increased by 2D6 except for the missiles. In the cartoons and books, Invid were doing much more damage than what Mr. Simbieda gives them credit for. According to the RPG, Alphas and Betas are virtually indestructible and instead of decreasing their MDC, I just raised the enemies' damage.
- New MDC for Cyclones is 75 MDC. In the book, it mentions that Cyclones had equal armor to a Zentraedi Battlepod. So even now I'm being more than fair.
- New MDC for CVR-3 Armor or "Cyclone Armor" and Southern Cross armor is 15 MDC. Troopers were mowed down in both series.
- Shock Troopers must live up to their name! In the first assault by the Mars Division, it mentions that pilots were electrocuted by Shock Troopers that attached to the cockpits of the Alphas. To do this a Shock Trooper must make a successful grapple roll. A completed roll inflicts 2D6 MD to the pilot inside.
New Rules:
- Inorganics and Enforcers are not exclusive to the Regent's army. In the book it says that the Regis cleared the planet Earth with her Inorganics. Enforcers were also dispatched against Scott and the crew.
