This web site is provided as a matter of general interest for people who like historical novels. It is wholly prejudiced in the sense that it refers to books I have read and generally liked -- that being the ONLY criterion -- and is totally arbitrary, based on current rereadings, new enthusiasms, and ancient memories. There is very little commentary in the sense of book reviews; if a book is listed, it is good (except for the ones put in to prove a negative point). Bottom line, conceited as it might be, is that you have to accept my judgement as to what is included here. You are welcome to disagree on points, but if you are willing to trust me on this exploration, welcome aboard. If not, leave this site.
