Reunion
Part Five
"Any news from the Professor, yet?" Sam walked into the living room.
"No," a few replied.
"I wonder want is taking him so long?" Jean inquired.
"He don't want any company, non? `Sides he's only been gone a few days!"
"Ever hear of a phone, hon?" Rogue interjected.
"He needs time to think and we should respect that!"
"Red has a point."

Two days before:
"What has taking you so long?" he asked bluntly.
"Nothing."
"Where is Xavier?"
"Scalphunter is bringing him in."
"Excellent!" Scalphunter walks in throw the secret entrance.
"Here he is boss. Need anything else?"
"No, you may go for now." Arclight and Scalphunter left the room and headed for the rec.-room.
"Now, what were you saying about Gambit?"
"When I was picking up Xavier, Gambit was the one handing me the lounge! I'm surprised that he didn't ask if he know me. The Doc must of did a pretty good job on this device!" She pulls off a little metal box shaped figure off her belt. "I haven't had time to change, see you later, love."
"You don't have to shower alone, you know," Scalphunter smiled.
"I'm tried, maybe tomorrow," she slapped him in the ass, playfully and walked passed him. "Well, on second thought, why not? I can't think of any good reasons!"

The sheepishly walk up to Rogue and taped her on the shoulder. As she turned her face light up with surprise. # Oh, shit! What was I going to say! # Remy yelled at himself mentally. His mind went blank all he could say was, "Hi, how's is going?" Rogue looked at him funny.
"What?"
"I... I'm sorry," he whimpered. "I meant to ask if you would like to go somewhere nice." There was silence. "Will you?" he asked hopefully, but his hopes where crushed.
"No, thank you, Gambit!" The reply wouldn't have hurt so much. If she hadn't called him Gambit, instead of Remy. If she hadn't used the tone she had it wouldn't have hurt as much as a knife run into his heart repeatedly. She ran out of the sun-room and was on her way to Joseph's room, well at least that's what Remy had thought. So he ran after her.
"Rogue, come back, I just want to talk!" yelling as he ran. But there was no sign of her he looked although the mansion and everywhere on the grounds. He finally gave up, knowing that Rogue had rejected him cold heartedly and with a sigh went into the house. Not knowing where Rogue was.

"How could that BASTARD ask me that?!" she whispered to herself. Then started to cry once more. When there were no more tears to be shed she stopped. Miles above the world, safe from it and the hurt that is caused and miles away from her problems.

After hours of waiting for Rogue to return he finally wrote a note to her, and stuck it on her door.
Going out to clear my head and see if I can
find you. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset
you.
Remy
On his way to his bike Logan have spotted him. "Hey, where are ya going?"
"For a ride, just need to clear my head. Tell Jean I'm sorry about dinner, won't be home till late."
"Sure, thing, Gumbo," Logan said.
"Thanks, I'll see you later," Remy revved up his motorcycle. Logan waved after him as he left the drive way. And slowly walked to the house to tell the others that Gambit would not be joining them.

The motorcycle sorrows over the ditch, like a soaring eagle over the Grand Canyon. Dodging nothing, fearing nothing. Nothing but losing his lover. The bike swerved to a stop. The rider turned off the motorcycle and stared into the clouds. "Where are you, m` chere?" he put his kick-stand down. Then hopped off the bike and climbed onto a high rock, which was almost a small cliff. He laid there not wanting to leave, just to be away from the hurt that love causes. Maybe if he ran over all the things that had gone on between them that week, he would know what had made her blow up at him. "Well not really much did happen. She's been eating out for both breakfast and dinner." He stated sourly to himself. "The only time I have got in twenty feet of her was.. well... when Xavier left!" He started remembering what exactly had happened with his empathic ability, which made it ever easy. He remembered walking out with the professor's things, then listening to the others. To interested what was happening, then who he had handed the lounge to. The empathic signature was similar, but he couldn't think of who and why she hadn't said anything to him. It wasn't just someone who he meet, but someone he knew very well. "DAMIT!" he jumped to his feet before finishing the word, running to his bike. Taking only a split second to start the bike and he was off.

She quietly touched down, wiped her final tears away, and headed for the boathouse. When she went in everyone, save Gambit, was there. Taking her seat she was greeted by her friends. As normal the chatted with one another.
"Where is Gambit?" Bishop said just enough so all the others could hear him.
"Didn't I tell you? Gambit said he was going out to clear his head. Jean he told me to tell you that he wasn't going to make it for dinner and that he was sorry or something like that."
"Thank you, Logan," Jean complemented.
"Sure thing, Red." Everyone then turned back to their conversions, but Rogue. She sat there now thinking that Logan was holding back something.

As slowly and carefully as Remy could move he crept into the secret lab and over to the computer terminal. Not bothering to sit in the chair in front of him, he started to search the computer's memory. He worked two hours at it, but nothing that was useful came up. Not were Sinister was, not were the Marauders were, and not were Xavier was. The only things he was able to find were DNA files on the X-Men and a very special present for Hank. Taking all the information that he could off of the computer he saved it on a disk an then erased all of Sinister's copies. Sense he was a magnificent hacker he was even able to destroy some of the information from all of Sinister' labs. Being careful not to be caught, yet, he left the compound and headed back to the mansion.

He pealed up the long driveway and punched in his id number. The gate opened as he turned the bike off. From there on he would push his bike to the large building. It only took a few minutes to get to the house and quietly find his way to his room. Pulling out three sheets of paper and a pen he wrote three short letters. One to Hank, another to Rogue, and the last to the rest of the team. The one to Hank was placed under floppy disks on Hank's lab desk. Rogue's was slid under the door of her room and the last was put in the ready room, under a few disks. After gathering a few weapons and tools he left the mansion, being careful not to be caught. For this was his fight and his fight alone.
