Reunion
Part 14
By Christine Demerath
"No, no, no, my friend," Ororo smiled laughingly at her companion. "You can not just merely dig a hole and drop a plant in. You must dig a little deeper into the ground, like so." Ororo took the spade from Bishop and dug a little deeper, so the hole was now about 5 inches. "Then replace the soil and pat it gently on top. You do not have to worry about watering them, I will take care of that when we are though." Bishop watched as she did this, resisting the erg to look at her beautiful light brown face.
"Thank you, Storm."
"For what?" She raised an eyebrow.
"For lunch, and mmm from getting me away from Drake." Laughing Ororo smiled hitting Bishop in the arm playfully. If the man that was watching did not know better, he'd would have that his two best friends where flirting. And from these two was a near impossible sight to see.
"It was no problem, my friend. Besides now you are paying for it." She smiled once more.
"No, that is not true, I'd love to help you with your gardening."
"Oh come now, surely if you we're raised by Remy you could not have enjoyed gardening, the man despises it."
"Maybe now, but not when I was growing up, he consentienly told us how he love our gardens and how beautiful they where, though it was had to imagine when you live in a place where plants no longer grow."
"I am sorry, Bishop." It was his turn to give her a curious look. "What I mean is that I wish that your life wouldn't have been so hard, or you time so chirruped."
"So am I, but that will never happen now."
"And I thank the goddesses for that."
******
"I'll miss you two." Remy whispered, as his gaze stayed glued to his friends. Sighing he picked up his duffel bag and turned to turn down the hall. "All of ya."
"How come, kid?"
"What? Logan? Saints, did ya have ta sneak up on moi?" Remy nearly jumped off the floor a good three feet.
"Sorry, Cajun." Remy had immediately placed the duffel bag behind him when Logan had first spoke. "So where ya headed, Cajun?"
"Vacation?"
"Yeah, that's what I thought. What's up?"
"Nothing, I can handle it."
"Normally maybe, but you're in no condition to be doing much. And if I know you, you're headed for trouble, you always do."
"Please, Logan. I need ta do this alone. I'll be back home soon, week tops."
"No."
"What? Logan, how can ya be saying that? You of all people should understand." Remy was more shocked then angry.
"`Cuz kid, I do know how you feel and what your into, and I'm going to help, `cuz you need it."
"Logan.. ya can't!"
"Cajun, shut up and get ready to go."
"But.. ya don't know what you're getting into."
"Yeah I do. Don't worry, Cajun, you're an X-Men whatever I learn you'll stay that way."
"Ya still got time ta change your mind." Remy turned and headed for the hangers.
"I doubt it, Cajun. I'll be there in five." He shouted after.
*****
"Okay, I'm ready to go."
"Don't think do, darlin`."
"And why the hell not!?!"
"`Cuz you weren't invited."
"Neither were you. Now you're going to help me get on that plane with or with Remy's approval. He's my brother and I'm helping." She hissed/shouted.
"Really? Thought you where keeping that a secret darlin`."
"Shit! Did I say that out loud . Oh crap! What a minute, how'd you know?" She looked at him curiosity.
"It's obvious, girl."
"So let's get going then."
"No."
"Excuse me? I'm going either of you like it or not, is that understood." She was dead serious and Logan figured that she was capable enough to take care of herself. Either that or she was stupid, cuz she wasn't afraid.
"Okay then, let's go."
*****
Logan climbed onto the plane, "Hey, Logan, ya ready?" Logan nodded and then Remy saw her, his sister. "What ya'll think your doing? Ya can't come with me, Robin. I'll be back in a few days, da X-Men take care of you tell then."
"I can take care of myself."
"I don't doubt it, chere. But you can't come with me this time. There's something-different going on and there is someone there that I don't want knowing you're alive. Please, ya gotta listen " But she didn't plopping down in her seat she buckled her seatbelt. "Ya ain't coming, damit!" You could see that the anger was caused by fear.
"Don't you tell me no! I just found you and I'm not letting you get hurt anymore. You can hardly do anything as it is; I'm not letting you go into something without back up. `Sides I'm fully capable of taking care of myself."
"Ya just don't get it do ya, yo---"
"Just sit down will ya, she ain't going to give, she's just as bull headed as you." Logan closed the hatch. Remy was about to protest but gave up, falling into the pilot's seat as a child would when pouting.
"So where we headed, bud?" Giving Logan a sideways glance Remy started the engines.
"Seattle."
