Part One
"Storm?" Stevie queried pushing the door open with her elbow. "I brought you something to eat."
"I am not hungry," she said her eyes never leaving the man on the bed.
"Storm, if you don't eat, you'll get sick," Stevie reprimanded.
"I still am not hungry," she replied.
"I'm not leaving until you eat something."
"Very well, what did you bring?"
"Well, I brought you a chef salad and a big glass of iced tea," Stevie smiled setting the tray down on the desk.
"Thank you," Storm said sitting down and picking up her fork.
"Any change in the patient?" she asked sitting also.
"No, he is the same," Ororo replied sadly.
"You know Storm, you're not doing him any good sitting up all the time and not taking care of yourself. Why don't you take a break and go outside or take a long, hot bath," she suggested.
"I would rather stay with Remy and be here when he wakes up," she replied.
"Can I ask why you're so devoted to him? Are you two in love or something?"
"No, Remy is a very dear friend to me. He was there for me when I needed him, not caring what might happen to himself. I am but repaying him in kind."
"Tell me about what happened when you needed him, Stevie asked pulling her left foot under her right leg.
*****"You do not seemed surprised at my story child," Storm observed when she'd finished.
"If you knew some of my friends you'd understand why," Stevie said with a laugh.
"What do you mean?" she asked sipping her iced tea.
"Promise not to tell anyone? Even Scott and the Professor?" she asked looking about for anyone who might have walked in unnoticed.
"Of course," she nodded.
"Four of my friends at school are vampires," Stevie answered.
Storm raised her eyebrows in surprise.
"I'm not making this up, if that's what you're wondering."
"I thought all vampires were destroyed by a spell in the DarkHold."
"Well, as Archie would say, 'Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.' Apparently that magic only affected certain new-blood vampires. At least that's how they explained it to me, I didn't really pay any attention to it because I was falling asleep at the time."
"I believe that if Remy met your friends he'd throw a fit," Storm smiled.
"Why do you say that?" Stevie asked.
"Remy can be very superstitious about some things," she smiled.
"So he avoids walking under ladders and stays in bed on Friday the 13th." Stevie laughed.
"And throws salt over his shoulder," Storm smiled.
"Look Storm, I'll keep an eye on him for you if you wanna take a bath and get a little sleep. I promise to come and get you if he starts to wake up," she suggested.
"I should stay with him," she resisted.
"If he woke up now, would you want him harassing you about how you look like you just got back from an all-night kegger?" Stevie grinned.
"You are right, Remy would never pass up an oppertunity to tease me," Ororo said standing up. "I do need to streach, perhaps a quick workout in the Danger Room would do me good."
"Sure, take all the time you want. I'm free through tomorrow afternoon."
"In that case, I shall return in a couple hours," Storm said leaving Remy's bedroom and closing the door behind herself.
"Well handsome, looks like its just you and me. Wanna play cribbage? No? Well, in that case, I'll read a book and you can just do whatever you're doing in there," Stevie said picking a book out of her ever-present back pack.
