Part One "Lies and Discoveries"

"Nice shot !" Shouted one of the kids.

"Thanx," replied Elizabeth. As she got the ball back, the bell rang loudly. Quickly she threw the ball for the last time, getting it in the hoop perfectly. She smiled as she saw amazement on faces of her teammates. Quickly she got her stuff and waving goodbye to the kids she ran to the changing rooms. < I've still got ten minutes,> she thought. As she got into the shower, she turned the tub on and hot water ran all over her curved body making it feel all nice and warm. She got out and wrapped herself in a towel. Quickly she got some clothes out of her bag and got dressed. < Why do I take a shower in winter ?> she wondered. < I'm running crazy lately,>. Looking through the bag she found a hair tie and she tied her long blonde, curvy hair in a pony tail. Glancing at her watch she ran out of the changing room, she had one minute. Suddenly someone raised in front of her, making her stop.

"'ello Miss Cane, where you headin ?"

"Fuck you Kate, take yar smart ass comments an go an ruin someone else's life."

"Ohhhh are we sad cuz our little boyfriend Kyle aint loving us anymore ?"

Quickly, Elizabeth swung her hand at Kate. She grabbed her by the shirt and banged her into a wall. Her face just inches apart from Kate's as she spat out. "Me an Kyle are perfectly fine bitch. Stay outa my life if ya wanna live through college."

Kate smiled cruelly at Elizabeth. "Whatever ya say Miss Cane."

"Fuck you." Said Elizabeth. She dropped Kate and ran out of the changing room. She was late for class already.

Elizabeth couldn't concentrate in Math's that day. The teacher was trying to explain again how to calculate the area of a Pentagon, but she didn't get it. Marks of teeth all over her pencil proved that. Besides she wondered where her boyfriend Kyle was. He said he was going to be at school but he didn't show up. That was why she played Basketball at lunch. She loved that sport but usually she was around Kyle at her free time. And that gave her no time to play sports. Not that she minded much. Kyle was her one and only love. They both knew each other since them were nine < Seven years of friendship,> Elizabeth thought. Sometimes she would talk to him for ages and still couldn't get enough. If he ever left her, she doubted she could live on. But why would he do that. She had everything she had to have. She was beautiful, many people told her that. If her school had a beauty contest she would defiantly win it. She hadn't had many boyfriends though. She was never sure if she could find love. The bell brought her back to reality. Quickly she got up and left the class. As she ran down the stairs she tried to remember what class she had next. It was History.

< I hope we don't have the exam today. I totally forgot to learn for it.> Slowly she came into class. The teacher was already putting instructions on the board. < Dam it.> She found a place and sat down, unsure what to do. After a while, she started writing. < This is hopeless. I cant remember half of this stuff. Dam you Kyle, sometimes I hate myself for talking to you for hours on the phone.> The pencil she was writing with got even more teeth marks. Looking around she noticed she wasn't the only one that had problems with the test. Then the bell rang. < That went fast.> Handing in the test she prayed that she would at least get fifty percent. Then she ran out of class to catch her bus.

The bus was crowded. There was only one place left by a girl, Elizabeth has never seen. Wondering wether she should sit there, she looked at the her, she didn't seem to notice. < Evil. But hey she's not going to eat me right ?> As she sat down the girl gave her evils. < Well, maybe she will.>. But she didn't move. The bus started to move and she looked out the window not thinking about anything serious. Suddenly the bus started to slide. There was ice on the road and the tires couldn't get a grip. The driver tried to stop it but with no use and they slid past the traffic lights and hit a pole which bounced them back to the middle of the crossroad. People looked around scared and then they saw even a bigger threat. A truck was speeding at them with full speed and with no chance of stopping. Someone in the back screamed and out of the the sudden everyone was screaming. The driver was helplessly trying to move the bus. Elizabeth's life flashed before her eyes. She didn't want to die. Just then, a powerful force hit the bus. Elizabeth thought it was the truck and she waited for incredible pain. But it didn't come. Instead she saw the bus moved few meters away from the crossroad and the truck speeding past them. < What the.... ?> Some miracle had moved the bus and saved them. She couldn't believe it. Everyone started to cheer. Elizabeth turned around to the girl that was sitting next to her. She was gone...

< Where could she go ?> wondered Elizabeth. It was evening that day. Elizabeth still wondered what exactly saved them, and where was that girl. Was she in any connection to the miracle that saved their lives ? As much as she thought about it, she still couldn't figure it out. Finally she gave up. She couldn't find the answer, besides she had other things to do as well. To her surprise, Kyle still wasn't home. Every time she rang him his parents told her he wasn't home. < Where the hell is he ?> But those weren't her only problems. Her two sisters were getting even more on her nerves. As the youngest in the family, she had the hardest time. All her sisters did was ride around the city in flashy cars, smoke cigarettes and made her life miserable. She really hated them. She wasn't in a good relationship with her parents either. Her dad worked long hours a day to keep his multi million company going. Her mum was always out somewhere shopping or at her friends. Her older sisters could do what they wanted to do, but Elizabeth still didn't have a car and her parents weren't much help in her struggle to go through her teenage life. Some people thought that money brought everything. Elizabeth knew it was a lie. It only pulled her family more apart.

Bored to death, Elizabeth turned up the radio as loud as she could and she dropped on to her bed as the slow lyrics of "Come as you are" filled the room she forgot about her problems for a while.

< Dam, I wonder what I got in the test.> Elizabeth thought as she walked nervously into the History class on the next day. She found a spot to sit and started biting her pencil, scared she wouldn't pass. The teacher slowly started to give out the papers. When Elizabeth got hers she nervously flicked to the end of the paper where the mark was. She ran out of breath as she saw thirty eight percent. "Crap." She said out loud. < Man this sucks.>

She threw the paper down with furry. The teacher looked at her. "What's wrong Elizabeth ?"

"I'm 'ot feelin' well." She replied with anger.

"Do you want to leave ?"

"Yeah." The teacher could see that Elizabeth's face was white. < She's not lying.>

"Okay take your bag and got to the nurse."

Elizabeth picked up her bag and stormed out of the room. Instead of going towards the nurses room she went out of the building. She was going to find Kyle. She walked to the field, but didn't find him there. She walked out of the school, happy no one has seen her. < What do I do now ?> Walking down the street she came in to a nearby restaurant, where she often went with Kyle. He wasn't there either. On the way, Elizabeth noticed her head started to hurt very much. After few minutes she couldn't stand the pain. She screamed. Looking around she noticed she was in just few meters from Kyle's house. < I didn't realize I walked so fast.> Not thinking much she knocked on the door. No one answered. Her head was hurting even more now. Without thinking much she turned the handle. It was open. Slowly, looking around she came in. "Hello ! Anyone here ?"

No one answered, but something told her to go to Kyle's room. As she walked up the stairs she heard loud music. < Good, at least he's home.> Standing in front of his locked door, she bit her lips as pain from her head hit her even more. Without knocking she opened the door. What she saw shocked her. Cold ran down her spine, her mouth dropped open.

"No...."

Right there in front of her, Kyle was lying in bed, with her best friend, Linda.

They didn't hear her walk in over the music but then suddenly Kyle turned around and noticed her. In that same moment, Elizabeth's head felt like it exploded. She shrieked in pain. It happened in a instant. Elizabeth saw images before her eyes. Kyle cheating on her. Telling her lies. She felt his feelings, how good he felt to be with Linda, how good it was for him to cheat on her. It was unbelievable. How could someone she loved so much do something like that to her ? A second latter Elizabeth's headache turned for worse. Kyle got up and tried talking to her but she couldn't understand any words he spoke. Her defense system kicked in and when Kyle walked closer she thought about defending herself and then suddenly Kyle was lying on the floor unconscious. Linda screamed and suddenly Elizabeth started to run. Out of the room, out of the house. She ran. And ran. Holding on to her head which hurt even more. Blackness covered her eyes. She couldn't see where she was going. Instead in her mind she saw images. Of people. Emotions that were not hers filled her head.

Shrieking she ran into a old, deserted factory. Her head hurt even more and she felt pain in her hands. They started to burn as if they were on fire. She screamed. All the thoughts, all the emotions, all the pain, all the disappointment, all the lies. She had to relive it. Her hands lighted up and energy like she had never seen before shoot from them. It destroyed everything around it, fire was consuming everything everywhere. Standing in the center of the inferno she created she found that the pain in her head was gone. Instead she felt very weak. Her legs were felt like rubber. She dropped to the ground. The fire was cutting her off from a exit. Slowly with the rest of her strength she crawled out of the factory. When she was ten meters from it, the building exploded. She managed to turn around and see the destruction she had done. Trying to stand up, she fell back down. Lack of strenght and pain was overwhelming her. As she curled up somewhere in a dark alley all she could think was. < God....what is wrong with me ?...>
