"Operation Zero Tolerance" Part 4
Plot and Script: Tom

Elizabeth took another deep breath and kept her legs moving. Her lungs pumped oxygen into her brain making her run faster. She deared to turn around and she saw Jubilee stooping and facing the enemy. Gambit, Iceman, Cannonball and Joseph understood they couldn't out run the robots, if they were going to survive they would have to fight them. Elizabeth hid in the shadow and watched the fight progress. There was no way she could have helped them. She would only be getting in the way. Besides she was scared lots. ^This place gives me creeps^ she thought as she looked around. It looked as if they were in some sort of tunnels underground. As soon as they got attacked by the Prime Sentinels they hit the run. Gambit and Sam decided to go for what they called Morlock Tunnels or something and suddenly they were going underground. Unfortunately the Prime Sentinels followed them.

Elizabeth turned her attention back to the fight which already erupted. Iceman send shards of ice at a Sentinel in front of him and while some stuck it the rest did no harm. The robot was already immune to Bobby's power. This was the time to quit. Quickly Bobby attacked the Prime Sentinel Gambit was fighting. In the same time Cannonball struck through the Sentinel in front of Bobby breaking it in half. Meanwhile Joseph caught the Sentinel behind Sam and crushed it into pieces with his Magnetic powers. This was seeming to work until more Sentinels showed up. When the X-Men tried the same trick it didn't work. Prime Sentinels learned fast.

Quickly the X-Men were regrouped and Gambit went flying into the wall. Joseph pulled some metal from the ground and bound the Prime Sentinel while trying to blow him up. The Prime Sentinel fell to the ground and Bobby finished the job by freezing the robot. Meanwhile Cannonball flew around dogging the Sentinel's rays. He looked behind him to see how close the Sentinel was and when he turned away to see in front of him all he managed to see was the wall. His force field absorbed the impact but it threw him onto to the ground. Sam looked up shaken to see the Prime Sentinel standing over him. He gulped as he saw none of his friends near. The Sentinel lifted it's hand to shoot and Sam closed his eyes hoping death wouldn't hurt. Suddenly he heard a noise as if someone was breaking metal and when he looked up he saw the Prime Sentinel fall to the ground and Calisto standing over him with something he couldn't describe in her hand.

"Th...thank you miss."

"Don't mention it boy." she said while she turned around and run to help the other X-Men.

Sam got up quickly and flew after her. He then saw that Calisto brought a friend. Someone Cannonball has never seen before. She was a young girl, fifteen not more. She had short brow-red hair, and was obviously a Morlock. The part that most shocked Sam was that she had bones sticking out of her body everywhere. Not only that she was fighting with those bones. She was defiantly a Morlock.

Gambit threw few cards at the Prime Sentinel while he saw his new allies. They came out of nowhere and started helping them. Remy knew Calisto from Xavier's files and he has heard of her from other sources as well. But as soon as he saw the other one he froze. She had bones sticking out of her everywhere. ^This can't be^ he thought to himself as he looked at the girl. ^She looks exactly like her^ He was so occupied he didn't notice the Sentinel in front of him. He heard it lift it's hand and he glanced at it helpless. Suddenly he saw a red body spring in front of him and firing energy at it. Before Remy knew what was going on the robot laid on the ground and Elizabeth stood in front of him breathing deeply.

"I tol' y' t' keep outta dis chere." Remy pointed out as he got up. Elizabeth blushed as he called her chere.

"Gambit you would have died if it wasn't for me." she pointed out trying to stop her hands from shaking.

"Yeah I 'now I 'now." he said grinning.

Meanwhile few meters away the last Sentinel was surrounded by Calisto and Joseph. The robot fired at Joseph who quickly dogged the shoots. The Prime Sentinel turned it's attention to Calisto who threw herself at him. She brought her knife down but found that the robot was protected by a shield of some sort. Before she could react the Sentinel used all of it's energy generating a blow of plasma energy. It rose it's hands and fired at Calisto who was blown back by the impact.

"Arrrrrghhhhh"

When the dust settled Calisto was lying on the ground motionless and the Sentinel was preparing for a next blow. Joseph acted quickly out of instinct and destroyed the robot by forcing some metal through it. Quickly he turned around and ran to Calisto. He kneeled over her and out of the corner of his eye he saw the rest approaching. He looked down at Calisto who was still breathing.

"CALISTO !" he heard a scream and someone pushed him out of the way. Knocked out of balance he rolled away. "Keep away from her you creep." said a young girlish voice. Joseph looked up to see the young friend Calisto brought with her. He was about to say something back to her when Gambit put his arm on his shoulder, and whispered.

"Don' d' anythin' stupid mes ames."

"Gambit I am not a little child I know how I should act." replied Joseph while getting up. He walked up to the rest and glanced down at Calisto.

The young girl was kneeling over Calisto. "You....you can't die." she said in tears.

"Sarah don't be stupid. I'm not dying." she said with a weak smile.

"I need to take you home, there you can recover."

"Oh.... no Sarah. You...you will go and... and help the X-Men." said Calisto obviously fighting with pain.

"No !" cried out Sarah

"Do as you're told girl.... This.. this is why we came.... after..them..." Calisto coughed. "You... you need to... help them. I.... We owe.. them."

"But I can't leave you here sick." young Sarah cried out.

"Sarah I will be fine. Just leave me.... leave me at... at home... then you... you can come back after.... you've... you've helped the X-Men."

"But.."

"No butt's. Now help me up."

All of the X-Men standing around leaned to give Calisto a hand but Sarah swung her hand making them stay back. "Leave her alone." she said. She picked up Calisto and started walking of in the tunnels. The rest followed.

Later in "home"

Calisto watched blurry as Sarah walked around the room trying to find something else to make her comfortable. Girl's admiration for her was unbelievable. Calisto had come to stop Sarah from killing people and the two became friends. If it could be called a friendship. Sarah practically admired Calisto. Now as she walked around the room trying not to show she was nervous the X-Men sat around the table each of them quiet not breaking the silence. Sarah handed her a glass of water and watched as her mentor drink slowly, while out of the corner of her eye she saw the X-Men sitting around one of the tables. Calisto handed her back the glass and feel asleep within few seconds.

Sarah turned around and walked back with the glass. She never thought she would care for Calisto so much. Her, a young girl just barely a teenager, in war all her life; she actually found some place in her already ripped out heart for a woman she admired. But it wasn't enough. Calisto wasn't well. She was close to dying and who knows what would happen tomorrow... Calisto needed a healer. And there wasn't a healer. The great healer she remembered from her childhood, not the hopeless old man, he died in the Massacre. Her and Calisto were the only Morlocks living in the tunnels. The rest, that was not murdered was somewhere in Africa. Sarah cursed under her breath. So far any problem she had she solved with violence. She had never come across a problem that she couldn't solve. Until now. Could it be possible that violence didn't solve everything ? She was lost and helpless and the only person who she could turn for advice was dying. She walked across the room as the X-Men sat silent. She wasn't paying any attention to them they were as much as enemies to her. She only didn't kill them because of Calisto. As she slowly walked past she saw one of them sitting on the chair looking at the ceiling. Suddenly a image flashed before her. She knew him. All the rage, all the pain suddenly returned and she realized she had found a old enemy. With one swift move she grabbed a bone from her back and threw herself at Gambit.

"I will kill you !" she shouted while she knocked Gambit out of the chair. Before he landed on the ground he already had few alighted cards in his hands ready to fight.

"What ya wann' ?" he quickly said, already knowing the answer.

Sarah jumped a top of him and put a bone against his throat. "You. It's you. You have costed me my life..... Wemy. Ever since we meet, I was hoping I'd get a chance to meet you again. You costed me my normal life !" she said near tears but hate still sparkling in her eyes.

"Sarah I 'ave n' idea what you talk' 'bout." Remy said slowly choosing his words carefully knowing his life was at balance.

"Oh yeah you do Wemy. I will cut you into million pieces for what you did !" she screamed lifting up her bone aiming for Gambit's heart.

Suddenly she felt being thrown away and then she felt sudden coldness. When she looked up she saw Iceman helping Remy up and looking at her critically.

"What is going on here ?" he demanded the rest of the X-Men behind him.

Sarah didn't say anything. She turned around and walked away to Calisto's bed where she sat down and looked at her mentor motionless.

Gambit sat down back at his chair silently, knowing everyone was looking at him, demanding an answer. He took out a cigarette, fought with his hands so they wouldn't shake and lighted up the smoke. After taking a long puff he started of at the floor not saying anything.

Fifty miles south in the Morlock tunnels

Forge looked around with amazement. He had never been in this part of the tunnels before. He never even knew it existed, he was sure the X-Men didn't too. So how did Cable. This was still a question to him.

"Stop wondering, Forge. It's a old secret." Cable said out loud.

Forge's eyes narrowed. "You read my mind again Cable and..."

"I will do what I think necessary." he pointed out and then kept walking in the tunnels.

"How much further do we have to go Cable ?"

"About ten minutes walking."

"And then what ?"

"Then we will find a stairway which leads into lower levels of the mansion. From there we will be directly above the War Room. You better have your gun ready."

Forge frowned but didn't say anything. Instead he checked his equipment and then followed Cable in the grim light.

Somewhere in Mexico... twenty four hours before

The room was dark. In fact there was no light. A tall man in a white shirt which reached to his knees and a pair of glasses watched as four security guards bring in a man. He was a short man no higher than five feet. He was very muscular. He had hair all over his body and in some situations could be considered some wild animal. The man was naked. The doctor watched as the guards struggled with the heavy man to put him into some sort of a water tank. In that instant his body was starting to float while the security guards started placing various pieces of strange equipment on him. After few minutes they were all set to go. They closed the water tank and backed away, leaving the doctor with his assistants and stepping outside. Meanwhile the doctor pressed few buttons and the man in the water tank began to awake.

"So tell me Mr. Logan, how does it feel to be in a tank again ?" he said in a cold sarcastic voice.

"Wha ?....! Let me out of here, you freak !" Logan shouted slamming his hands against the glass. No use. It was made of something hard. Something even his bone claws couldn't cut. He roared like a wild animal while he tried to break the glass. It caused a smile on the doctor's face and numerous notes from his assistants.

"Now, now Mr. Logan, let's not get hasty shall we ? Something was taken from you not so long ago. Something that never should have been. Now I'm being a nice person and returning it to you."

"Wha.... ? Don't you dare !" shouted Logan fear entering his voice.

"Oh yes I do. One day you will thank me Mr. Logan. Me and Bastion for allowing me to run this experiment on you. If we could do the same on the humans we turn into Prime Sentinels they would be unbeatable. But you see we need a proof it still works. You are our man. Since you survived it once you should be able to do it again." the doctor said his grin widening.

"I will kill you for this !" Logan shouted. "AAAARRRGHHHHH" he screamed in pain as the doctor injected him with a painful sleeping drug. He tried to fight of sleep that was overcoming him but he was helpless.

When Logan fainted the doctor started getting the experiment ready as he lectured his assistants at what was going on. "Subject: Wolverine is ready to go through the experiment. Considering his past encounters with this substance we can be almost sure it will work."

That said the doctor started the experiment. The room alighted in bright yellow light and sparks flew. The first scream of pain and rage echoed in the room.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

Later

The screams stopped. So did the experiment. After two hours of screaming in pain and even more notes made by the assistants the experiment was finished. As far as the computer was concerned everything was fine. The screen showed Logan's skeleton had laced perfectly with the matter. They had succeeded. The doctor looked up at Logan floating lifelessly in the water. He couldn't believe it they did it again to this man. It was like a dream come true. As the guards began to take the even heavier Wolverine out of the tank, the doctor smiled to himself wickedly.

"Yes Wolverine. You will thanks us. Thank us for putting andamitium where it belonged. Back in you."
