Chapter Two
The Lords of Liabo ~ The Gods of Light
by Evialla Violetskye~Khyree & Geijon Khyree
Charl
"The Destroyer"
Name: Charl
Ancient Name: Shaal
Epithet: "The Destroyer", because his anger is like the worst sea storms.
Pantheon: Liabo
Tier: Greater God
Realm: God of the Sea and the Fall Season
Dominion: Oceans, Storms, Revolution
Relations: Father to Niima
Rivals: None
Symbol: An emerald trident on a field of blue or a silver dolphin on a field of blue.
Shrine: Coastal Cliffs, Ice Mule Trace Temple
Appearance: Having no affinity with creatures of the land, and little liking for them, appearances of Charl outside his watery realm are rare. If seen in his humanoid form, Charl is an intimidating, towering presence with his massive physique, pale skin, bluish-white hair, a blue-white beard of seaweed and algae and his mercurial sea-blue eyes. Garbed in robes of blue and grey, he wields in his hand an enormous trident of greenish alloy set with emerald points. Glimpsed within the depths or in the heart of a raging storm, Charl appears either as a Merman with his lower half the tail of a fish, a whale or a great dolphin.
Demeanor: Stern, angry, quick-tempered, moody, dark, violent, brooding.

Living reclusively apart from his peers, Charl dwells constantly in the seas of Elanthia, joining the other Gods only at the command of Koar. Legend holds that Koar once had to send for Charl six times before he appeared. When Koar demanded to know why he was so disobedient, Charl replied that he was always the most obedient of Koar's servants, but that the waters of the six oceans of the world flowed through his veins, and none could come without the others.

Charl is a dark and violent god, and is renowned for his drastic mood swings. He cares little for the land dwelling races on Elanthia, and is as likely to swat a nearby ship with a storm as he is to let it pass untouched. Because of this he is feared by seamen, and few pray to him for fear they might attract his attention. For the same reason clerics serving Charl, although seldom welcome, rarely come to harm in any place frequented by seamen.

He is also the god of storms of all sorts, and more than one despotic tyrant, overthrown by an angry mob marching under a stormy sky, has sworn that it was Charl's hand that laid him low.

Some clergy contend that Charl is at heart a God of Darkness. Still, there is little doubt that he swears fealty to Koar, and for that reason, if for no other, he is numbered with the Gods of Light.

Cholen
"The Bard"
Name: Cholen
Ancient Name: Kieron
Epithet: "The Bard."
Pantheon: Liabo
Tier: Greater God
Realm: God of Fesitvals and Performing Arts.
Dominion: Festivals, celebrations, performing arts, humor.

Demeanor: Playful, mischievous, bright, cheerful, teasing, mocking. Bard, dancer, and prankster.

Patron of celebrations and all that goes with them, Cholen is renowned for his bright demeanor, his mastery of music, song, and dance, and of his mischievous nature. All performing skills commonly seen at festivals fall within his domain, and muttered prayers to Cholen are not uncommon among jugglers, actors, and bards who frequently perform at them.

The many comedies whose plots revolve around mistaken identity and cross-gender disguises owe their basis, at least in part, to Cholen's penchant for cross-gender pranks, although his disguises are generally acknowledged as being more complete than most acting troupes could ever manage.

"The Bard", Cholen has a magnificent singing voice and is said to play various musical instruments. He's the opposite of his older brother, Jastev, God of visual arts and magic. Cheerful and mischevious, he's called upon to bless wine and aid with recovery from hangovers. He's been known to seduce mortals, sometimes in the form of a woman just for fun.

Eonak
"The Smith of the Gods"
Name: Eonak
Ancient Name: Iorak
Epithet: "Smith of the Gods"
Pantheon: Liabo
Tier: Greater God

He has black hair, and deep brown eyes. Eonak wears the leather garments of a blacksmith. His left arm is missing, replaced by a veil iron prosthetic.
Demeanor: Impatient, surly, distracted, serious, intense.

Maker of all of the fantastic weapons and other items used by the gods, Eonak spends most of his time alone at his forge working intently at his craft. He is more at home there than anywhere else and is a bit of a recluse, at times only a decree from Koar or the soft words of Imaera having the power to draw him away from it.

Often considered a strange pairing, Imaera and Eonak are each masters of crafting, although their choices of substances is vastly different. Imaera's crafting is of living things, of cycles and seasons and balance. Eonak's crafting is of inanimate things, yet even as Imaera's, his creations must fulfill their purposes, achieve a balance of beauty and utility, and all, even as Imaera's do, contain some part of him that marks them as creations of Eonak's hand.

The superbly made veil iron arm Eonak spent countless hours forging is one of the greatest pieces of craftsmanshop ever undertaken., and thus serves him perhaps even better than the original. Legends differ as to how Eonak lost his arm. Eonak's devotion and mastery to his craft exemply the success won by hard work and persistance rather than natural gifts alone.

A glimpse into Eonak's Workshop:
[Catacombs, Secret Workshop]
This seems to be a secret workshop of some sort. Weapons in various states of completion are held in locked vises atop a large wooden workbench. Shelves filled with finely made tools line the walls. Against one corner leans a huge broadsword, the hugest you have ever seen. You also see a plain iron cresset in the shape of a trident bolted to the center of the wall and containing a pale, flickering flame and a rectangular depression in one of the walls.
