    Angel's Crest's most important ruler since Jade herself, Althea's first achievement was the opening of trade routes with countries such as Dakren and Phyta, also a member of the House of Jade.  Until then, Angel's Crest was mainly a self-sustaining kingdom and did not participate in international trade and commerce, as they were still a new kingdom.  Althea changed all that, aggressively pursuing trade agreements and raising the Angel's Crest economy to incredible levels.  The kingdom became increasingly wealthy, and Althea used her treasury to expand her kingdom.
    Unfortunately, her success was short-lived.  The appearance of invaders at the Angel's Crest borders brought the growth to a halt and all efforts were focused on protecting the kingdom.  The enemy was a Dark World army, led by King Roga, who held a deep grudge against the House of Jade after he suffered a bitter defeat to Angel's Crest ages ago.  Bringing an overwhelming force, he swept through the land and breached Castle Ravensong's walls. Roga's attack began the first Dark War.
    Althea died in the struggle, but not before she could send her twin daughters, Paige and Katharine, away to various parts of the kingdom under her servants' care.  She realized her true calling when her soul was selected to become one of the realm's elder gods, the Goddess of Justice.
