has secret society mark
This is an elite, magical assassin of
the drow. They are a "strike
force" type of fighter-mage, who have
mastered their preferred weapon
to the exclusion of all else.
They are also masters at stealth and
infiltration, and will frequently use
their magical skills to get
close to a target. These are not
thieves, however, but rather
warriors often charged with carrying
out tasks for their Houses. They
will rigorously defend their House,
and always seek to promote the
political and physical survival of those
within their clan.
All members of this kit also belong
to a secret society. These
societies do not function as guilds,
but rather as a secret
organization of elite guards who are
taught this special fighting
style. Society members are all
marked in a secret location (each
society has its own), and these marks
blend into the dark drow skin
easily. However, someone looking
for the mark in the right place will
spot it, which may cause trouble for
the member in question. Although
all drow of this kit will defend their
Houses, their secret goal is
the unification of all Houses, to finally
eradicate the elven threat.
Although society members will seek to
further their House goals, they
will also advise cooperation with other
Houses, to strengthen the drow
society as a whole (this is usually
a dangerous attitude to espouse,
especially when one argues for cooperation,
but not followed by
treachery). A very few of these
societies consist of good drow, who
have sought the protection and guidance
of Eillistraeean priestesses
in protecting themselves from detection.
These drow would also love
to see the drow unified, but under a
good, just rule, without the
damning influence of the Spider Queen.
