The Elven
Scourge

Sword
Wanderer's NPC/PC

The Elven Scourge is a rapier of unmistakable
beauty. It's blade is made from mithril and holds
that silver blue hue,  while the handle is constructed
of intricately carved elven bone. It's pommel is studded
with many large princess cut black sapphires and beset with gold and platinum filigree. Soft black velvet is wrapped for the grip.

This weapon is ancient even by elven standards.
It was forged by a cabal of mighty wizards eons ago
while the elves and the drow still battled on the surface.
Magic now forgotten and forbidden to the drow
was used to create this foul blade.

The Elven Scourge was made for the drow prince
Shar Narshan to aid him in the unholy slaughter of
his fair skinned brothers.
For a century Shar used the scourge to slay elven heros
and champions by the score, and soon his
reputation as a cruel warlord was known to all.
Shar's reputation became the instigator of his demise.
Jeolous of his brother's fame, Karjan Narshan poisoned his
brother and stole the blade.

Karjan was never much of an accomplished warrior
and shortly after he murdered his brother he
was killed by an elven mage. The Elven Scourge
was taken by the elves and hidden for safe keeping.
As time passed on the
drow were banished to the lightless caverns and
recesses of the Underdark, and the elves lived in relative peace.
The Elven Scourge resurfaced a few decades ago in
the hands of a human thief named Dregor. While drunk one night at the Whipsering Banshee in the city of Derlusk,
Dregor boasted about how he made off with
the weapon as his fellow adventuring companions
were stuck fighting a protective Baelorn in an elven
ruin some hundred miles to the east.

A week after this night two moon elf
bladesingers visited the Whispering Banshee
looking for Dregor. He had skipped town the night before,
wanting to be in Baldur's Gate by early summer.
Dregor has not been seen since that night, nor have
the two bladesingers who took chase.
Whatever befell the three is unkown, but it appears
that once again The Elven Scourge is lost in secrecy.. Or is it?

This sword is a unique weapon.
It acts as a rapier +1/+1 when used in combat against
non-elven opponents. However when
the blade is used to attack any full blooded
elf(half-elf's are not included) it is a vorpal weapon +3/+3,
and inflicts double dammage when decapitation
does not occur.
