The
Grissa Ea Armarth is a red, steel blade fluted down
the center with a blood channel. At
the end of the flute where
the base of the blade meets the hilt
there is a carving of a black
widow spider. The flutes channel the
blood they collect down
into the eyes ( all eight ), and hour
glass emblem of the spider.
There is a large ruby set into the base
of the hilt that glows with
an inner radiance. The glow increases
with the weilders anger.
No
one is quite sure where Grissa Ea Amarth was forged
but one thing is certain, it was not
on the prime material plane.
Rumor holds it's origin is somewhere
on the Abyss.
The
sword first surfaced in the second War of the Crown.
It was weilded by a drow champion name
Pharaun who betrayed
his matron. He fled to the surface seeking
some sort of safe
haven but the surface was just not to
his liking.
Pharaun, running out of options, traveled
to a rival drow city
and was taken in by a powerful house.
Later that same house
fled the city after a failed attempt
to destroy a rival house.
They stumbled across an ancient
dwaven stronghold
where they settled down to start their
own city. Unfortunatly
the complex was discovered by an adventuring
party.
Most of the intruders were killed but
one, a thief by the
name of Sobohn, escaped and sold the
information
and the location of the ruins to the
Einar.
Now the dwarves knew of these
ruins and sent a sizable force
to eliminate the drow threat to ( their
) property. Thats Einarian
polotics for you. Unfortunatly for the
Einar the drow were
ready for them they routed the dwarves
and the survivors
fled with no intentions of returning.
During the rout Pharaun was killed by
a half-elven mercenary
named Magdelina. She recovered Grissa
Ea Amarth and
kept the blade.
Some time later she was killed
in a battle with a balor.
The balor wounded and down on his knees
had destroyed
Maggies whole adventuring party and
as she thrust in for the final,
death dealing, blow the balor exploded
killing her instantly.
The sword was never found anywhere in
the area of the battle.
Rumor has it that a thief named
Eliah who frequently
adventured with Maggie was mysteriously
missing during
the battle with the balor. If anyone
would know
the location of the sword it is most
likely her.
Grissa
Ea Amarth is a +2/+2 blade normally.
Three times daily upon utterance of
a command word the blade the
becomes a +4/+4 weapon for 10 rounds
reducing the weilders
initiative by 3 and doubleing his attacks.
The weilder also recieves a bonus of
2 towards his armor class.
Unfortunatly the sword also puts the
weilder into a berzerker
state they must make a wisdom check
each round or
strike anyone (friend or foe) within
5'radius.
The
weilder of the sword will fight on after going below
0 hit points untill reaching -10 upon
which they die.
