These weapons commonly are hand-crossbows but light and heavy sized versions are not unheard of. What differs these is the style in which they are made. First, they're an over-under model.  They are two in one styles with a second crossbow underneath the top one. Second, they both have
a spring loaded  clips that hold five bolts apiece. Third, they self load as the archer recocks  the bow string. What this all means in game terms is this: the rate of fire per round is doubled. These look basically like any other crossbow of drow design except the two over-under bolt  launchers and the two clips that come down and curve out from both sides of the weapon.
The basic mechanical design of the weapon was "borrowed" from Derro crossbow technology. Of course the Drow reshaped it to suite there needs. The concept and additional alterations where a joint effort by  a half-drow male named Amalica Danzig, a 13th/ 15th  level mage/ theif
follower of Vhaerun and a drow male named Chazzmyrr Yuantyrr, a 15th level priest of Vhaerun. These weapons are made for high ranking followers of Vhaerun. They are first given to worshippers on important missions that will further the causes of Vhaerun. If proven successful they are
aloud to keep them. If a non-believer is in possession of one, they are attacked on sight by anyfaithful brethren that sees them.

As mentioned before, Amalica was the first to wield one of these weapons, but they can be found in the possession of other faithful of Vhaerun.

At creation of these weapons they are given the power of "Locate Object". In game terms this translates to a +3 to hit. This modifier is in addition to any others that may apply (range, movement, etc.) so it's +3 at best and removing negative penalties at worst. It also removes 3 from the speed factor of the weapon and allows the archer to fire into or out of a "globe of
darkness" with no penalties (but no +3 either).

The other powers lie in the bolts that are made in conjunction with the crossbow.
