This
scimitar is a beautiful piece of workmanship.
It has an extremely sharp blade consisting
of a single piece of carved diamond, thus making it valuable indeed! The
handle piece is made of a single piece of carved onyx.
The
history of the blade is lost in antiquity,
as the carving of gemstones into blades
is a talent long forgotten.
It was found in a deep dragon's treasure
hoard by a
drow house of Menzoberranzan, which
hid it from wandering
eyes (since it was obviously not drow-made,
the weapon
could withstand the sunlights debilitating
effects, making it
very valuable to any drow).
The
drow house was later destroyed when rumors
that the house was worshipping another
deity other than
Lolth surfaced. The lone survivor, a
crown prince by
the name of Chazmyr Arabani, managed
to escape to the
surface with the blade, and is now the
current owner of Lyonesse. He is using
it to further the
cause of good everywhere and is often
found
traveling in the company of a beautiful
drow priestess
of Eilistraee by the name of Xune Kilsek
in the Forgotten Realms.
Overall,
it is a scimitar +2. As the day slowly fades to night,
the blade gives off a twinkle of a glow
from within the
diamond, which grows until night has
fully fallen and the blade
shines with the equivalent of a light
spell in a 30' radius.
In addition, on an unmodified roll of
18, 19, or 20, the blade
bursts into pure white flames for a
brief moment,
engulfing the target hit and causing
an additional 1d10 damage.
