At
a time when Nexus walked among the living,
he had visited the Drow city of Menzzoberanzan.
On that visit he tried to learn the
secrets of the famed
special quest spell devised by the clergy
of Lloth called "Zin-Carla".
All he got for his effort was the
wrath of a matron mother who sent one
of her daughters to slay him for blasphemy.
In
the battle he slayed not only the priestess
but the drow patrol tring to subdue
him with such ease
that all onlookers shuddered with fear.
He grabbed the
priestess whip as a trophy. As the patrols
gathered to arrest him,
he animated the dead bodies and had
them form a
protective ring around him. He then
pulled out a scroll he
had made for such an occasion, first
he read the "undead plague"
and over 5,000 corpes answered his call,
then he envoked a "divine curse" so the drow priestess would have no power
over the undead horde.
He then "plane shifted" to Hades to
Myrkul's realm
to make his escape.
While
there he made the alteration
to the whip of fangs, which was basically
was using
his anatomy skills to repair the damage
to the
snakes and then embalming them by spell
and
animating them. Then to finish he casted
"Atonement"
to attune them to him and placed it
on a alter of Myrkul
for a month of prayer and fasting.
The
shadow asp whip of fangs is a variation of the
dreaded whip of fangs wielded by high
priestess of Lloth.
It is a adamantite handle with 1d4+2
snake heads but the
simalarities end there. The snakes appear
to be qasi-real
black asps made up of shadow stuff and
negative energy.
Their eyes glow red and there is a curious
inverted triangle
on the top of thier heads with a little
drow skull in the center
of the triangle. Like the whip of fangs,
the snake heads move on
their own accord and act as an extention
of the will of the wielder.
Each
snake head is 1-3 ft. in length and can attack independantly
of each other. HD: 2+2 THAC0: 14 DAMAGE:2d4+2
plus a save vs. spell
or lose 1 point of STR and CON
(each head that hits requires a save
and
the damage and point lose is cumulative)
Speed Factor: as scorge XP: 10,000 to
make GP: none (not sold, only creator can wield) Damage to heads can be
cured via "undead regeneration".
Any one killed by the whip can be animated
into a undead
shadow under control of the wielder
as long as the victim
was drained of some STR and CON points.
