These
sabers are about 4' long, with a uniform width of 1''. The edges have a
fine, permanent edge that are rimmed with a paralyzing poison. Their blades
are of adamanite, so they cannot be broken. The twin sabers, which are
unnamed, form a strong mental link with the one who wields them, which
is currently a drow named Fe'Talia De'Haaren. If the blades are stolen,
she can snap her fingers and they will disappear. This is a magical dweormer
carried by the sabers. Anyone, if properly attached to the blades with
a mental bond, has this power. No one else can use these blades unless
the current wielder of them dies. Their handles are of mithril and adamanite,
etched over in small designs. They are said to sing softly as they blur
in parries and slashes, hence their name.
This
weapon was forged by duergar and traded to a city of mind flayers. Fe'Talia
came across them when she was attacked in the Underdark by a group of illithyds.
She took them off of a dead mind flayer. She performed most of the special
powers of the blades herself, though, such as the singing powers, mental
link, etc.
The
last holder of the weapons were a mind flayer. He no longer holds it because
Fe'Talia slew the entire party of illithyds when she was attacked in the
Underdark. Fe'Talia De'Haaren, of Ches Nasad, priestess of
Lloth now controls this weapon
Abilities
The
sabers are powerful enough to slice through metal and rock with ease
they cannot be broken. With the mental link to their holder, they can be
semi-aware of what kind of mood the owner is in. If the owner is afraid
or angry, they seem to shine brighter and leap to the hands of the owner.
The first attack is never made by the weapons, though. That choice is the
person's to make.
The
sabers can disappear at will of their holder if they are stolen and reappear
in the owner's hands. They burn anyone who touches them and is considered
an "enemy" by the holder of the weapons.
The sabers sing softly when being used. How
this particular trait came about no one is sure, if it was put there by
the duergar, mind flayers, or Fe'Talia herself.
