This circlet was made long ago, soon after the sundering between the elves of light and the drow. The original circlet was silver, but when it passed into the hands of a drow wizard, he perverted it, and it turned black. The runes were added later.

The list of owners is long, but includes many leaders of Drow houses. Currently held by X'ian X'xar

Abilities
Adds blindness to the attack of the user.

Adds -1 to armor class. Protects against all weapons of lesser power than +1. The circlet is protected by all magics, and lends a +1 bonus save vs. magic to the user.

Can cast a sphere of darkness with a diameter of 20'.
