Interesting moments:

First round:

Jaro-Laco-Tomas-Lubo
First table won Tomas, who slowly bled Lubo to death (although Lubo ousted Jaro easily with his weenies). Tomas then killed all Laco's minions and finished him, too.
Maros-Miki-David-Zsolo
Second table was really interesting - from the begining everybody burned pool because David's Anarch Revolt. Zsolo played risky game when he bled back (David), but he had profit from David's heavy bleeds, deflecting them to Maros and ousting him. David was damaged from his own Anarchy and he commited suicide when he played Direct Intervention. Miki then finished Zsolo.
Vlado-Dusan-Brano-Javier
At the third table Vlado gained advantage when he promised not to bleed Dusan who blocked Brano's politics against Vlado, but he broke his word. Brano was really aggresive politics and he ousted Javier. Vlado tried to save Javier (Life Boon), but it helped only for short time. He was ousted in a while.

Second round:

Dusan-Laco-Maros-David
At the first table Dusan changed places with Laco and then he started to attack Maros. David tried to help Maros, but Dusan was succesfull. Then he got David to 1 pool, but David saved himself with Minion Tap and he also ousted Laco. With plenty of pool he easily finised Dusan.
Javier-Zsolo-Jaro-Lubo
As usually Lubo's weenies bled very quickly. Javier had only one vampire, Lubo played Misdirection and bled a lot. Next round he tried to repeat it, but Zsolo cancelled his Misdirectoin. But Lubo's persistent bleeds finished Javier quickly. Zsolo also didn't wait and strongly attacks Jaro until he ousted him. Then cruel bleeding war between Lubo and Zsolo began - and Zsolo had more luck.
Miki-Brano-Tomas-Vlado
The last table started with Miki's fatal mistake - he put blood on other vampire than he wanted, so Isabel de Leon (3 capacity) had 8 blood counters at the end of influence phase. So she became controlled and excess blood burned off ... Miki was brave after this mistake, but his predator Vlado had a lot of Deflections and Redirections, so many Tomas's bleed reduced Miki's pool and he was ousted. Vlado then continued to bounce Tomas's bleeds to Brano and he cleared the table.

Third round:

Tomas-David-Lubo-Dusan
Nothing special at the first table. Lubo ousted Dusan and Tomas, but then his vampires were not enough powerfull to finish David. The only interesting moment was, when David cancelled Dusan's Sudden Reversal played against Tomas master card.
Laco-Jaro-Maros-Javier
Javier took chance and ousted Laco when he had no untap and intercept cards. But then Maros started attack and he slowly cleared the second table.
Brano-Zsolo-Vlado-Miki
Arika was again contested at the third table (Brano and Vlado). Funny was when Vlado's Emerson Bridges changed city and became Prince of Geneva. Brano started to politicaly attack Vlado cross the table, so Zsolo was happy and finished Vlado. But then he was ousted by Brano who played Pentex Subversion on his lonenly vampire. Then he fought against Miki, but without success.

Final round:

Lubo-Zsolo-Miki-David-Vlado
Everyone wanted to help Zsolo against Lubo's weenies, but he gave him no chance. Then he started to bleed Miki, but he had a lot of untap cards and he killed all Lubo's vampires. Miki then ousted David and Vlado finished Lubo. Long battle between Miki and Vlado started. Although Miki had two War Ghouls on the table and lot of intercept cards in the hand, he couldn't oppose Vlado's abnormal pool (more than 30!).

ANTEDILUVIAN AWAKENING - booster draft tournament - June 21st, 1998:

Only 8 players took part on the second tournament - 7 from Kosice and Javier Abad from Spain. We played with 3 Sabbat boosters. Firstly, everyone opened all his boosters and took vampires. Other cards stayed in a booster. They could have a look at them and prepare some strategy. Then everybody opened first booster and took 3 cards. Booster then moved to other player. Next round each player took 2 cards and each next round only 1 card. The same we made with other 2 boosters. Everybody got VTES booster as a price, so they could include some cards from it to a deck. Official DCI rules applied, we played three rounds and a final one (each 2 hours).

Everyone liked this tournament. Some players said that they enjoyed it more than standard tournament. Some decks were pretty good - I liked Vlado's combat deck and Brano's bleed/stealth deck.

I was surprised, but I saw really interesting combat situations: During the first round Maros's Seldon fought against Dusan's rescuing vampire. Seldon dodged, played additional strike, inflicted 4 damage and Decapitate. Excellent combination. Later Zsolo's Lambach equipped with Femur sent Seldon to torpor. Also some non-combat situations were nice: in the second round Miki finished Javier with Anarchist Upraising (Javier had 6 minions and he had great advantage).

Important cards for this tournament seem to be: Recruitment, Blood Doll, Barrens, weapons, Metro Underground, Investments. The best vampires were Meshenka, Lambach, Jacko, Beast, Angelica.

I hope everybody had a lot of fun. I want to thank Javier Abad from Spain that he came and joined us for a while. I hope you like Antediluvian Awakening tournament and Slovakia, Javier. See you next time ...
