Not too long after her fourteenth winter, Aven fell ill with a horrible feaver, from the with the Village Wisdom barely saved her. Her parents were frought with worry over thier only child.

But time went on, and, when no other incedent of the mysterious fever, Avendera's life returned to normal. One chilly day in late fall Aven walked into town to deliver a message to the innkeeper of the small town from her father.

Upon entering the inn, Aven noticed a beautiful woman she could not put an age too. As she walked past the woman on the way to the innkeeper, the woman grabbed her arm gently.

"Excuse me, child," the woman asked sweetly, her voice like chimes, "I couldn't help but notice.....did you by any chance have a mysterious fever about a year ago?"

The woman smiled at Avendera encouragingly. How could she know about the fever? "Why, yes, Lady I did have such a fever at around that time, but..." That is when Avendera saw the fabled Great Serpent ring adorning one of the woman's fingers. Aven stumbled back, jerking her arm free of the woman's grasp. "You're.... you're Aes Sedai!" she said shocked at her trembling voice.

Avendera felt dizzy, and she sat down with a hard thump on the bench at the Lady's table. "Me? Aes Sedai? I....yes, I... would like to come with you, I think."

"Very good child, you are proving most in control of your wits for one so young." At that moment Aven wondered exactly how old the lady was, she looked ageless... "Now run home and tell your parents, we will make preperations and leave at daybreak."
Mother, knowing something of channeling, recognised the signs and told her daughter that she must make the journey to the Tower in Tar Valon, but that she wanted her to return at the first instant it was safe, and to not, at all costs, become Aes Sedai....

Maisene, making no promises, set off for Tar Valon, and realised she was destined for the famed Green Battle Ajah, and is now studying in the Tower to that end, unbeknownst to her Mother...
And so it went. Avendera al'Mere is now at the White Tower and is soon due for Acceptance.
