The Battle of Avanel


The Battle of Avanel was a shameful defeat for the Klingons. It began when Gowron appointed himself head of the Klingon fleet in 2375. His first act was to attack Avanel, which is located deep in Cardassian space. Seven Klingon vessels were destroyed, and five were seriously damaged.
