The Battle of Chin'toka -- 2375




Nearly one year after the original Battle of Chin'toka, another battle took place in the same sector. It began when a Breen/Dominion fleet tried to retake the Chin'toka system from the Federation, Romulan, and Klingon forces stationed there. A Federation/Klingon/Romulan task force met the Breen/Dominion fleet in the system and a battle began. The Federation vessels started to destroy a handful of Breen warships when things took a turn for the worse. The Breen launched an assault against the Federation ships using some of their advanced weaponry. Unfortunately for Starfleet, the U.S.S. Defiant became the first casualty in what would turn out to be a devastating defeat. Most of the Defiant's crew managed to escape in escape pods while the Federation/Klingon/Romulan fleet retreated, giving the Chin'toka system back to them.
