Penumbra

Well, the Final Chapter begins with a bang. "Penumbra" was one of the best episodes DS9 has produced this season. As usual the special effects were superb, especially during the scenes in the Badlands. Dennis McCarthy's musical score was excellent, and the acting was great. Along with that, we were introduced to a brand new runabout, only to see it explode near the episode's end. That runabout, the U.S.S. Gander, has the honor of being the first runabout to be destroyed this season. I wish it hadn't been destroyed. Oh, well. The best scene of the entire episode, in my opinion, was the scene where Ezri unsuccessfully tries to make Sisko believe that the comm channel is filled with static. I thought it hilarious. We were also treated to the sight of a Breen vessel, which looked kind of creepy. I think it was a CGI, but whoever designed it did a wonderful job. I've never really liked the Breen. They seem kind of evil. I think its because they were those helmets. I really enjoyed the shots of the Cardassian homeworld. There's nothing else I really want to say. Oh, I liked the reference to to Son'a. Also, I'm really beginning to like the character of Damar. It seems like he's beginning to have second thoughts about the war. I liked the reference to Captain Boday as well. He was mentioned once before, I think in Season 2. I'm not very sure. My Rating : 10.00 out of 10.00 At this rate, the seventh season is turning out to be one of DS9's best, and the remaining episodes may push it into a tie with Season 2 and Season 4 as DS9's best season. NEXT WEEK : Dukat's plan is revealed, and Sisko decides whether to obey or disobey the Prophets.
