Image in the Sand

"Image in the Sand" turned out to be an all around great episode, and a nice way to kick off DS9's 7th and final season. The plot, story, and acting were all great, but the thing that stood out the most was the music. It semmed to perfectly match every scene of the episode from the attack on Sisko's life to the arrival of Ezri. I don't know who composed it, but they did a pretty good job. "Image in the Sand" featured some of the best music DS9 has had in a while. Now on to the story! I liked the interaction between Kira and the Romulan, (I can't think of her name right now.) and despite several complaints, I actually like Kira's new hairstyle. Brock Peters did his usual good job as Sisko's dad, and I'm hoping to see more of him this season. I was really kept in suspense during the commercial break after Captain Sisko was stabbed by that wierd Bajoran. Two scenes tied for my favorite of the episode. The first was the scene where Worf and O'Brien had a conversation about Lietenant Barcaly. (TNG -- Hollow Pursuits, Realm of Fear, The Nth Degree, ect.) I thought that it was absolutely hilarious! The second would be the scene where Ezri is introduced, even if it was rather short. I also enjoyed the scene where Kira confronted the Romulan about the torpedoes. (I'm looking forward to next week's episode. It should resolve the torpedo problem. The special effects for S&S look terrific. At least from what I could gather from the preview.) Well, that's all for my first review of any DS9 episode. (*) My Rating : Image in the Sand -- 9.5 out of 10.00 (*) NEXT WEEK --- Shadows and Symbols
