Amazing Spider-Man #229
Meanwhile The Juggernaut and Black Tom are on a boat mapping out a plan. The Juggernaut is bored. He wants some action worthy of his power. Black Tom tells him to be patient and that once they get Madame Web her ability to see the future would ensure no one could stand in their way. But Cain has had enough of the waiting and says he'll meet Tom later and that he would just go grab Madame Web now. Before Black Tom can talk him into waiting The Juggernaut has walked off the deck of their boat and begins trudging along the ocean floor toward Manhatten.
Sensing the presence of her forseen stalker Madame Web contacts Spider-Man and tells him that her stalker is arising from the sea somewhere in Battery Park. Upon arrival Spider-Man sees a trail of destruction. He thinks it may be the Sub-Mariner's doing until he sees that the orchestrator of this havok has senselessly smashed right through a building so he then believes it might be the Hulk. However Spider-Man's curiousity is soon dissolved as he sees not the Hulk, but someone just as big. He figures a man that size would probably fall right over if kicked from behind. He learns the folly of this reasoning when he swings in for attack but does nothing but carom off of The Juggernaut and nearly slam into a wall. He then tries webbing but as the webline nears him The Juggernaut generates his personal forcefield to stop the webbing from touching him. After seeing that tactic fail as well Spider-Man then weaves a wall of his steel-like webbing to cut off The Juggernaut's path. The Juggernaut has yet to acknowledge Spider-Man's efforts and this one is no different. He walks right into the webbing barrier and forages against it without the slightest sign of hinderance until the webbing wall is ripped from it's moorings. Seeing this Spider-Man thinks that The Juggernaut must be in the Hulk's class to pull that off and swings ahead of Juggernaut to think of a plan.
Further ahead a pot hole gives Spider-Man an idea and he enlarges the hole further by ripping up more of the street. As The Juggernaut arrives Spider-Man tries to get his attention so he won't notice the hole and fall into it. But The Juggernaut is smarter than Spidey gives him credit for and is on to his scheme. He lets Spider-Man know he's aware of the plan and obliges him by consertedly dropping into the hole anyway. Erupting back up to the surface mere moments later he informs Spider-Man that nothing holds The Juggernaut. Spider-Man finds his adversary well lives up to his name. He decides to try a more direct approach and swings in front of Juggernaut to get him to stop. Unfortunately Juggernaut has no qualms about walking someone over and continues to stomp forward anyway. Spider-Man then leaps onto him and tries several high-speed yet completely futile attempts to hault The Juggernaut's advance. Juggernaut tells Spider-Man to give up but Spidey refuses and says he'll stick to him until he stops. Juggernaut then shows Spider-Man the downside of that plan by holding Spider-Man to him as he walks through another building to painfully clean Spider-Man off.
As a dazed Spider-Man gets back up to his feet he suddenly recieve a phone call from Madame Web. She tells him she has percieved the word "Cyttorak" in connection to her stalker. He says that Juggernaut is too much for just the two of them and that she needed to contact some more heroes while he took care of something. He remembers Dr.Strange having mentioned "Cyttorak" and spirits away to his home in search of info on The Juggernaut. Unfortunately Strange isn't home so Spider-Man instead asks Wong if what he knows of this Juggernaut. Wong says Strange has spoken of him but he doesn't have any useful information for Spider-Man. The phone then rings. Spider-Man knows it's for him and jumps in to answer. It's Madame Web informing Spider-Man that no other heroes could be reached. Spider-Man says call the police and he'll be right over.
Meanwhile The Juggernaut's path of destruction continues on through the city. The police special units set up bunkers with heavy artillery to try to stop The Juggernaut's rampage. Unfortunately they have as little success as anyone else and The Juggernaut bulldozes through every bunker and post in front of him, smashing cars and meandering through their explosive weaponry like a barely noticeable spring drizzle. Finally reaching Madame Web's apartment building Juggernaut finds that Spider-Man has beaten him there and blocked the stair case with webbing. The Juggernaut rips out the entire wall the webbing is attached to and heads upstairs to Madame Web's apartment.
By this time Spider-Man has started to annoy him and Juggernaut decides that if Spider-Man tries any more stunts he was going to get him out of his hair. Locating Madame Web's apartment Juggernaut sees Spider-Man's webbing along the door frame. He tells Spider-Man that he's come for Madame Web and to open the door. After a less than cooperative response from Spider-Man Juggernaut punches his hands through the steel-sheathed door. Unbeknownst to him Spider-Man had rigged the door using Madame Web's electronics. On contact The Juggernaut is hit with the equivalent of a million volts of electricity. Unfortunately for Spider-Man The Juggernaut is immune to electricity as well and he just stands there absorbing the shock letting the system blow itself out. Having had quite enough of such nuisances Juggernaut's bursts through the door and informs Spider-Man that due to the lack of entertainment his attacks have provided he felt obligated to pound him into the dirt for wasting his time.
The Juggernaut begins attacking but Spider-Man does a good job of avoiding the blows. Madame Web screams as everything is happening exactly like in her dream.
(Down to the last movements of both Juggy and Spider-Man,both doing exactly what the "Dark One" and the "Spidery Champion" did in the nightmare. Pretty cool if you notice it.)
While Spider-Man manages to dodge The Juggernaut's blows, the walls however do not. As the Dark One's power crushed the world around him in the dream The Juggernaut's power destroys whatever he hits and the ceiling collapses from the walls crumbling underneath it. Spider-Man is pummelled by and buried under the rubble and Madame Web is left defenselessly confined to her chair. With Spider-Man beaten there is nothing more between The Juggernaut and the helpless Madame Web who is confined to her chair. When The Juggernaut rips her from the chair Madame Web convulses. As a battered Spider-Man can do nothing but look on Juggernaut asks what's wrong with her and Spider-Man explains that her chair was her life support system. Removed from it she dies. Then in a chilling display of disregard for human life,Juggernaut simply drops Madame Web's body and walks away without so much as a second thought. Saying he came all that way for nothing.
