THIS WOMAN, THIS WARRIOR: Universe X Carol Preview

UNIVERSE X PREVIEW

Wizard, the comics magazine, recently included a special edition preview of Alex Ross' upcoming limited series UNIVERSE X. This follow-up to the immensely popular EARTH X limited series will center around the newly reborn Mar-vell. Among the preview sketches is the one pictured to the left entitled "The Realm Marvel". Notice the alluring female with the long black gloves and that familiar lightning bolt symbol acorss her chest. Alongside Carol are Earth X versions of Nova, Quasar and Star-Lord. Here's the accompanying text:

"The Realm Mar-vell exists amongst the dead, but in truth, they still ive.
Due to the ancient secrets Doctor Strange has passed on to Mar-Vell, these are the astral forms of a group of heroes loyal to Mar-Vell's plan.
Because their bodies still live and are hidden in the Negative Zone, where they sleep in preparation for Mar-Vell's return, Death cannot see them in her realm.
These are Mar-Vell's recruiters in the Realm of the Dead. They are his generals and his lieutenants.
They, at the same time, are truly at risk in this realm, for if these dream-forms are slain, they will never be allowed to return to their bodies and will suffer the same fate as Doctor Strange, the former Master of the Mystic Arts.
That is, to never be truly alive or truly dead. To be powerless in both worlds.
To be and not to be."
