The story I am about to tell you, actually happened
We had purchased our home and been living in it less than a year. The previous owners were very nice and built this house from the ground up. The husband had been transferred by his company to another city and had to sell this one and started to build another in their new hometown. The lady always told me how much she loved this house and that the new one was being built almost exactly like the one we now own.
Some time after they transferred and were living in their new home...the lady died unexpectedly. Her husband tried to phone her from work and there was no answer. He rushed home to find her dead on the bathroom floor.
One night, not too long after the lady's death, I was getting ready for bed. I was sitting at my dressing table at approximately 12:15am (everybody else was asleep) when I heard the saddest sound coming from the entry hall.
It was a woman. She was sighing, a very long, sad, sigh.
It sounded very much like an echo.
I knew there was no television or radio on..nothing to make this sound. I listened to it and basically, just shrugged it off. I didn't even tell my husband about it..but I couldn't get the sadness of her sigh out of my mind.
The very next night as I was sitting at my dressing table, again at the same time of 12:15am, I heard the same exact sad sigh. Such a sad, sad sigh. This time I didn't shrug it off..it didn't scare me but made my hair stand on end.
No, I didn't get up and investigate
The next morning I told my husband about the 2 nights in a row of the lady and the sad sigh.
We tried a few things, like taping and such and came up with nothing.
I haven't heard this lady's sighs since..but I will never forget how sad she sounded.
