The Ankari


The Ankari are an alien race native to the Delta Quadrant in the Milky Way Galaxy. They first encountered the Federation sometime in 2375, when the U.S.S. Equinox visited their homeworld. An away team from the Equinox beamed down to the Ankari homeworld, and they were introduced to the Ankari's spirits. The spirits turned out to be nucleogenic lifeforms from another dimension. The spirits entered our universe through fissures in space.

When the Equinox crew began using the nucleogenic lifeforms as fuel to speed up their journey home, the Ankari became very angry. The lifeforms became angry as well, and they used fissures to enter the Equinox and kill its crew. They attempted to kill the U.S.S. Voyager crew as well, but the Ankari helped Captain Janeway convince the creatures to end their attacks. The creatures agreed, in exchange for the chance to bring the Equinox crew to justice.

The Ankari use a special type of propulsion system, which allows them to remain undetected by other vessels.
