8472 Bioship

Bioships are used by Species 8472, who live in a different realm. In 2373, the Borg entered that realm and began attacking 8472. They were hoping that they could assimilate them. However, Species 8472 proved to be more powerful than the Borg had anticipated. Using their small but deadly bioships, Species 8472 destroyed countless Borg planets and ships. Millions of drones were lost. The U.S.S. Voyager itself was almost destroyed by an 8472 bioship. However, the Doctor managed to replicate modified Borg nanoprobes, which were placed in Voyager's torpedoes. The torpedoes were able to disable and destroy many bioships. Not wishing to suffer any further losses, Species 8472 retreated into their realm.
