Conciousness Parasite




The consciousness parasite is a non - corporeal life - form that enters a host consciousness just before the moment of death. Once inside the mind of the individual, the parasite tries to make the host’s consciousness go into a matrix where it can be slowly consumed to contain the parasite. In 2373, after a near fatal shuttle accident, Janeway’s cerebral cortex was inhabited by a consciousness parasite. It gave Janeway a false reality where she was dead and the crew gave up all hope of getting her back. The parasite came to Janeway in the form of her dead father. It tried to convince Janeway to let go of life and enter the matrix where its kind lived. Janeway didn’t fall for the alien’s trick.
