Ensign Harry Kim
Harry Kim is a Starfleet officer who serves aboard the USS Voyager. Harry joined the Voyager crew just before it disappeared into the Delta Quadrant. While attending Starfleet Academy Harry was the editor of the Academy newspaper. During this time he reported some of the first activity between the Cardassians and the Maquis. Kim is Voyager's operations officer. Family is very important to Kim. He tried to contact his parents every week, even when he joined Starfleet. Sometime in early 2375 Voyager found a 100,000 year old alien relay that allowed them to contact home. After the Doctor was sent across the relay to tell Starfleet what had happened, Starfleet managed to figure out how to send messages across the relay. Voyager received letters from family members and Starfleet information. Just before the relays were destroyed B'Elanna managed to download a letter from Harry's parents. He was very glad that he got the letter. Harry is an only child and likes to play the clarinet. After Voyager became lost in the Delta Quadrant, Harry used his replicator rations to replicate a clarinet. Before Kim was assigned to Voyager he was engaged to a woman named Libby. Sometime in 2372 Kim accidentally piloted a shuttle into a time stream sending him into an alternate reality in which he was never assigned to Voyager. In this reality Kim won an award of excellence for his advancements in warp theory. He created a new runabout called the USS Yellowstone. With the help of the alternate Paris, Kim managed to return to his own reality. Harry was killed in 2372 when Voyager encountered a spatial scission. The scission created a duplicate Voyager. This Voyager was overrun by Vidiians and its Captain Janeway self destructed the ship. Before the ship was destroyed, Janeway ordered Harry to take Baby Wildman and to return to the original Voyager, since both of those people were killed on the other ship. In late 2374, Harry became very attracted to Seven of Nine. Torres often teased Harry for this. Seven of Nine stated in her log that Harryıs behavior was very predictable. In an alternate reality visited by Kes, Tom Paris and Kes got married and had a child named Linnis. Harry married Linnis and they had a child named Andrew.
Harry was one the people who helped construct Voyager's advanced shuttlecraft, the Delta Flyer. Harry once told Neelix that when he was a kid, he used to love the Adventures with Flotter holo - program that Naomi Wildman often used. In 2375, Harry Kim was one of the two Voyager crewmembers who survived the destruction of the U.S.S. Voyager. For fifteeen years, Harry desparately searched for a way to alter the past and save Voyager. With the help of Chakotay and the Doctor, Harry succeeded. In late 2375, Harry helped save Voyager from a sentient bomb. When it threatened to destroy the ship, Harry talked to it, convincing it not do destroy anything. The bomb later sacraficed itself to save an alien planet from destruction by other sentient bombs. Harry recently began commanding Voyager during the night shift.
