Captain Kathryn Janeway

Captain Kathryn Janeway is the Captain of the Federation starship Voyager NCC - 74656. Captain Janeway along with the rest of her crew were thrown into the distant Delta Quadrant by an alien entity known as the Caretaker. The Caretaker brought them to the Delta Quadrant to find a replacement for himself because he was dying. In th end the Caretaker was not able to send Janeway and her crew home. Before he died he asked Janeway to destroy the array, Voyager’s only opportunity to reach home, so it would not fall into the hands of the Kazon - Ogla. Janeway, knowing that the Caretaker could not return Voyager home, destroyed the array.
A Maquis vessel was also thrown into the Delta Quadrant. When the Maquis vessel was about to be destroyed Janeway beamed the entire crew aboard Voyager. Janeway made Chakotay, the captain of the Maquis vessel, Voyager’s second in command. It took a while before the Maquis crewmen got used to serving aboard a Starfleet ship with Starfleet rules.
Janeway is an accomplished pool player. Janeway also enjoys tennis. Janeway had once considered coffee to be an essential part of her lifestyle, but food replicator rationing aboard Voyager has forced her to change her beverage choices.
Before assuming command of Voyager, Janeway served as science officer aboard the USS Al - Batani during the Orias expedition. Janeway’s father and fiance drowned under the Polar Ice Caps of Tau Ceti Prime sometime around 2358. The accident occured when their runabout crashed on the planet. Janeway was rescued by a rescue team. Janeway was profoundly affected by his death. Janeway will allow people to call her Ma’am in a crunch, but she prefers Captain.
Sometime in 2372 Janeway and Chakotay were stranded on an alien planet for a month because they would die if they left the planet. This happened because they caught a disease while on the planet. Voyager picked up an antidote from Vidiian scientist Denora Pel.
Sometime in 2374 Janeway forced the Borg to cooperate with her. The Borg would get modified nanoprobes that could destroy Species 8472. In exchange the Borg would provide Voyager with safe passage through Borg space. In 2373 Janeway was almost killed by a conciousness parasite. It took the form of her father. It tried to convince Janeway that she was dead. Janeway figured out that he was trying to kill her. She fought the parasite and managed to survive. Sometime in 2373 Janeway went through a handful of rituals to save Kes’s life. In the end Kes survived and Janewayn discovered that everything doesn’t have a scientific explanation.
Alien macroviruses once took over Voyager. Everyone on the ship had the disease. Janeway and Neelix found Voyager floating out of control. Neelix was affected by the disease. Janeway went on to save the ship. (With the help of the Doctor) Janeway was instrumental in retaking Voyager from the Hirogen in 2374. (The Killing Game Parts 1 and 2)
