Neelix
A Talaxian trader who joined the Voyager crew after Voyager was thrown into the Delta Quadrant. Neelix is a Talaxian and is native to the Delta Quadrant. Neelix is Voyager’s cook, morale officer, and occasional ambassador. Neelix can no longer guide Voyager through the Delta Quadrant because Voyager has moved well beyond the space that Neelix knows. Neelix was very close to one of his sisters, Alixia. Neelix’s entire family was killed in the metreon cascade, a weapon used by the Haakonian Order. Neelix was not killed because he was on Talax at the time. Neelix and his friend Wixiban had a run in with Ubean authorities. Neelix escaped ,but Wixiban served a brutal term in a Ubean prison. Neelix was romantically involved with an Ocampa named Kes. Neelix rescued her from the Kazon Ogla and brought her aboard Voyager. Neelix and Kes were involved for about three years. Kes broke up with Neelix when she was partly under influence from an alien entity called Tieran. Shortly after joining the Voyager crew Neelix converted part of the Mess Hall and the Captain’s personal dining room into a kitchen without Janeway’s permission. Janeway let him keep the kitchen to conserve replicator energy. Neelix uses food from Kes’s hydroponics bay and food from alien planets. Neelix has a daily audiovisual program called A Briefing With Neelix. Ensign Wildman is one of his most faithful viewers. When Vidiians stole Neelix’s lungs in 2371, Kes gave up one of hers to save Neelix. Neelix and Tuvok were once involved in an accident that merged them into one being called Tuvix. Janeway, making a very tough decision, separated Tuvix back into Tuvok and Neelix. Neelix usually puts Ensign Wildman’s daughter, Naomi, to bed every night. In an alternate reality visited by Kes, Neelix was a security officer. In another reality that has been erased, Neelix was also a security officer.
