Synopsis

My Thoughts
"One Small Step" was a touching episode. The scenes aboard the Mars capsule were terrific, and the actor who played John Kelly turned in a brilliant performance. I truly loved every scene which dealt with the Mars mission. However, I had a few problems with the scenes set aboard Voyager and the Flyer. I just didn't like many of the Chakotay scenes. Also, I was surprised that Chakotay didn't suffer any consequences for disobeying a direct order and nearly getting the away team killed. Last week, Janeway had a talk with Seven after she disobeyed mission protocols. Why didn't she say anything to Chakotay? Well, some of the Chakotay scenes bothered me, but not enough to keep me from enjoying the episode. The visual effects were impressive. I especially enjoyed the shots of the Delta Flyer inside the elipse. The elipse itself was interesting, and quite different from most of the other outer space phenomenon we've seen on Trek. Paul Baillargeon's musical score was nice, and it perfectly fit the tone of the show. My Rating : 9.75 out of 10.00 --- NEXT WEEK : Seven of Nine unravels a conspiracy, and she discovers that Captain Janeway may be a traitor to Voyager and the Federation.
