Kes was a part of the Voyager crew for the first three seasons of Voyager. Then Voyager's producers decided that the character of Kes just wasn't working out. A new character joined the Voyager crew at the beginning of the fourth season. The character was Seven of Nine. Seven of Nine is a Borg who is now Human.
